None of us here has seen Robinson fight at 147 yet all assume he wins just because what past historians have said.
I doubt some people here have seen Robinson fight at all.
There's about 3 or so fights available of Robinson at welter on youtube alone and there's most probably more out there and even one of him in the golden gloves, poor quality but you can still see how good he was.

He's always being sarcastic in these kind of threads, problem is that he writes essays so people will read it out of context :lol1:.
It was convincing sarcasm lol Although hard to believe as i've seen his posts so i don't know how i fell for it. :lol1:
Ahhhhhh lol I hope so.

haha! haters galore!!!
You mention Pac's or Floyd's name and they go screaming like little girls.
On the topic, I think either Floyd and Pac will make the fight close. They're both on a different level at this era, and so is SRR on his.. There's no way they would allow themselves to be knocked out easily. They both have the WILL and persistence to compete against SRR.
As a neutral, I think people are going way over the top here, seems to be some haters on this thread. I would say Robinson would beat any welter today, that includes pac and Mayweather. From what I have seen is that Pac can take a solid hit at this weight, that makes me think, Robinson would have a tough fight for him, I see the fight being even for the first 4-6 rounds but then RObinson dominating and either knocking pac out late on or winning and easy decision
As for mayweather, I do see an early or midway knock out for Robinson, I saw Mayweather nearly get totally put to sleep with 2 good shots by Mosley, no doubt in my mind Robinson would be landing a lot of powerful clean shots.
With that being said, if Robinson was in todays error, the fight with Pac would never happen because Arum/Roach would never allow Pac to fight him. Mayweather would also retire from boxing or go on long vacations to avoid him
Robinson's body blows would slow Pacquiao down to a walk by the middle rounds and Pacquiao would get caught by the bigger man in one of the punching exchanges. There was no recovering once Robinson had his man hurt.
Peso Pacquiao by KO. Today's athletes are faster (Robinson was only about as fast as Margarito, Diaz, Cotto, Hatton so Pac easily kills him).
I stopped there, come one man i have seen some of your posts and you have good posts. This is plain ridiculous.
If he only fought high quality, he'd have less than 60 fights total life time. Same with Armstrong and Pep.
Quantity of fights don't mean crap. People should stop saying, "Robinson (or Armstron, Pep, Wilde) was great because unlike today's fighters, they fought every week". Fighting every week proves nothing if many of those are against fighters with records of 32-36. Armstrong fought one while lightweight champ who was 0-2. And he fought him twice!!!!!
I know! I don't know why anyone pretends those guys are any good. Armstrong only fought bums with more than ten losses. He never fought anyone with a record like any fighter today. Armstrong wouldn't even be rated in the top 50 today. There were no undefeated fighters back then because no one could fight. Pac beat undefeated fighters like Emmanuel Lucero. Have you seen that guy fight? He has more skill than Robinson and Armstrong put together because of evolution. Pac pwned him in like three rounds.
Armstrong? He fought like David Diaz. David Diaz though is faster, bigger, stronger, and more skilled though because all fighters today are more skilled. Evolution.
Can you imagine Pac fighting anyone with a record of like 7-4 or 19-9 or some dude who lost 50% of his fights while champion. Even then, the guys he did fight that had those records while he was a champion were way better than anyone that fought then. The trainers were better, gyms were better with real equipment instead of rocks and **** and they had real skills.
Even long time champions like Margarito and other champions like Mayorga are way more skilled than anyone fighting today. Can you imagine if they were fighting then? We would be talking about them as the GOAT. Willie Pep, that guy that everyone says had good defense, wasn't even as skilled as someone like Hatton defensively. If Hatton had fought then, we would all be saying "Hatton is the greatest defensive fighter ever. Look at his head movement and great footwork. Look how fast and skilled he is compared to everyone else" and Pacquiao beat him easily. That proves that the fighters today are more skilled, bigger, faster and better.
They fought bums and no one was any good like today. Fact.
Peso Pacquiao by KO. Today's athletes are faster (Robinson was only about as fast as Margarito, Diaz, Cotto, Hatton so Pac easily kills him), stronger (them old fighters didn't have any gym equipment to train properly with), bigger (has nothing to do with day before weigh ins and being able to rehydrate and Robinson wasn't actually 5'11", he was smaller than Pac. They didn't know how to test height back then), better conditioned (all those old, crap fighters struggled to go fifteen rounds and would hardly throw any punches at all anyway) and much less skilled. Have you seen any fighters from back then more skilled than Diaz, Margarito, Mayorga, Valuez, Huck, Lebedev, Hatton, Cotto, etc? I don't think so.
The only reason guys like Toney and Hopkins say they fight like the old school fighters and have the same skills is because it's just a myth. Look how Robinson fights...he just wildly swings punches anywhere and doesn't even try to hit his opponents properly like fighters of today. They have no defense and Pacquiao, in reality, makes Pep look like Margarito, even though Margarito is a better skilled fighter than anyone from that era too.
Robinson only knows how to swing wild haymakers and wouldn't land anything on the much greater skilled Pacquiao. His defense is too good and he is too big, strong, fast, well conditioned and skilled compared to Robinson and anyone who fought before 1990. All the fighters from then don't know how to fight like today's athletes. Evolution has changed fighters from unskilled bar brawlers into highly skilled forces of nature like Pac. Even the guys who beat Pac, like Torrecampo, Singsurat and Morales were much greater skilled fighters than Robinson. Old school fighters are overrated and can't fight like anyone today.
There are ten times the amount of fighters now than there were in Robinson's era, way more trainers and gyms and that means that the competition is much harder to get through up to the top because you have to go through so many more fighters at each level. The trainers also didn't know anything about fighting back then. Roach knows more than every single trainer from back then. He could train any fighters to beat the best of that era. Even Segura could beat anyone from that era under Roach because he knows how to make someone as skilled as Segura beat anyone like Pep. Segura knew more than any of those guys anyway. As I said, today's athletes are better, bigger, faster, stronger and more skilled and Segura is no exception. He would beat anyone from that olden day era. They didn't have the same techniques that Segura knows now and their training wasn't as good. Roach would make sure of that. How is some bum like Pancho Villa gonna be able to beat Segura? Segura knows everything that Villa knows and more. He has evolved from fighters like Villa and so can do anything those guys can do and more. With Roach in his corner he could even beat the bigger guys from then because they just wouldn't be able to hit him.
Pacquiao by KO. It would look like the Diaz fight. Diaz is more skilled though than anyone from that era. As I said, today's fighters are faster, stronger, bigger and more skilled than anyone from then and Diaz, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, Oscar, Margarito and all the other champions today are no exception. So much more skilled.
Seriously who wins this one?
Seriously MP KO's him in the first round.....complete wipeout, not even close. Anyone who suggests otherwise is just jealous of Manny's success.:twak:
Please do :)
Here we go, not sure which of their fights it was, they had quite a number of them.

Sure it will surprise the people who seem to think all old timers were cavemen.
