I have read that when the draw was announced many people in the crowd were booing the decision.
Hopkins has said that many Canadians came up to him that night to say that he had won in their eyes.
Is Pascal still the pride of Canada or has his perfomance created a 'No Mas' image of their fighter?
They shouldn't have held Jean Pascal in such high regard in the first place. He wasn't impressive at all against Chad Dawson, Dawson just had trouble dealing with his awkward bull rushing style and never showed any urgency to get back into the fight in the later rounds. Pascal was in no mans land when Dawson got him with that uppercut in the 11th(?) round. He could've been stopped on his feet had he not cut Dawson so bad.
And if they did hold Pascal in such high regard, they definitely shouldn't anymore. Sure, no one ever looks good against Hopkins, but still, after the first 3 rounds, you could make a case that Pascal lost every single round after. Hopkins at 45, outclassed and even "out-conditioned" the **** out of the champ, all while looking a lot better than he did against Roy Jones.
Hes not Canadian.
Dude is fake.
Canadians like Bute because he is Romanian so they know he won't be as sorry and get knocked out as easily as if he were born with cowardly Canadian blood.
wow people go so overboard on this sort of thing, i mean yes he was dissapointing but he was not utterly terrible and Hopkins although old is a good fighter. I think he could do with a new trainer or someone else to help him out i mean why was the corner asking him to focus on defence constantly until the last few rounds? He needs to sort his stamina out, a fight like this could do him good to be honest.
I think boxing might be popular in Quebec..I really don't think Pascal is very well known outside of Quebec..Quebec is different than the rest of Canada, since they speak mostly French there and their culture is different...I hope some Quebecois can answer your question...
Do you think people will be turned off by his performance if a rematch is renegotiated?
I still think Pascal has his hardcore fans but I wonder how popular boxing is in Canada and whether many people were turned off etc.
boxing isnt even popular in canada anyways. its all hockey hockey hockye
if pascal KO'd him 1 secong first round wouldnt have changed a thing either way
He put on a masterpiece of performance. Its a shame to boxing he didnt get the decision
VIVA DE CANADA!

One of the reasons I ask is, will this affect how many people will turn out and watch Pascal fight again?
I wouldn't want Pascal's performance to break down any talks of a Hopkins rematch.
Pascal is not the pride of Canada. Canadians, in general, don't give a **** about boxing. It barely gets any coverage on our national sports news. That said, combat sports are much much bigger in the province of Quebec, than in the rest of Canada. Maybe he's a bigger deal there. I don't know. If I asked the average sports fan around here who Pascal is, they wouldn't know. They wouldn't know who Bute is either, or Steve Molitor. Boxing is pretty much a third rate sport in the majority of Canada.
