Khan's chin has gotten better since the step up in weight class, his chin has also gotten better due to the fact the freddie has built up amir's neck and shoulder muscles to withstand the impact's of a punch. But he has also taught amir to lean and roll with the punches to make them less affective. i know this has nothing to do with his chin but his conditioning was also very effective on saturday due to how quickly he recoverd and re-grouped after he was shaken, thats why his chin held up IMO.
He would have been coming out of shock and clinging on though. Its a mess of a place to be in but he managed to get through it but he lost focus.
Was completely shellshocked until he came back off the stool.
The recovery round wasn't as good as it could have been. You watch it and he was still shaken but won the round.
He REALLY needs to watch some Ray Leonard.
Oh ye he was seriously hurt, but he dealt with it better than he did against prescott (obviously) helped that it was later on in the fight
the point im trying to make is that he cant really work on how he deals with being hurt so much, thats mainly instinct,he can work on not getting hurt from big shots though,by tightening up his defence
The most glaring and apparent weakness I see is the lack of:
• JABBING to keep his opponents at bay and as a pre-eminent attack for his combinations.
• Effective Clinching when he is being pummeled
But perhaps he was already tired and hurt and was adviced to "run around" and kill the time. But to me, had he JABBED and CLINCHED when needed, he can pace himself and even rest. He can even plan the attack even more.
Though I was impressed with his fast combinations as counters, and very Pacquiao-esque - he would need to learn to use his combinations beyond just countering.
I can see his fast combinations was really bothering Maidana. So, had he jabbed, not only it would minimized Maidana's bullrushes but also setting him up for more combinations. Therefore he doesn't need to run as much in the latter round.
Having said that, I really think that Maidana is an inferior boxer compared to Khan.
Khan was holding up till the end and a bit getting tired though holding it was a credit towards his stamina but not his defense.
This fight will make amir khan a much better fighter. If you look at his past fights since freddy took over, he literally dominated all of them. You don't learn about your flaws from dominating an opponent. You only learn from fights that are close and hard.
Totally agree, hes still learning as a fighter you can see that, and his bout with Maidana should stand him in good stead in the future,as long as he works on his flaws
i sure hope not i nearly went into cardiac arrest when he got clocked in the tenth.
His legs went but i still think he had his senses about him, hence why he pulled through the onslaught
He was too focused on proving a point,i cant see him being as wreckless in future

After he abandond the game plan i saw a mojor diffrence, so next i hope he sticks to it for the whole twelve rounds and he needs to stop coming out of exchanges with his chin up and hands down.

I think his chin is okay, but he needs to work on his defense and stamina. The number of slow, telegraphed punches he took from Maidana was absurd for a guy with Khan's speed and reflexes.
His chin is fine,he took bombs from a big puncher and didnt go down, that'l do me,the worry is the fact that he took so many shots
his chin is fine against a brawler.... and he took some shots at the begging of the fight just to show he can take them i think, but still took to many shots for my liking.
