Well, I read a lot about Pacman fighting weight drained, past his prime, a shot, damaged goods, etc. fighters.
Now, please educate me on how to determine if a fighter belongs to that.
Currently, this is what I knew about:
Weight Drained - didn't almost all the fighters drained themselves to make the contracted weight? Look at those WW who normally walks at middle or SM. Or those 126-130 who normally walks at LW or WW? Didn't they drained themselves? Oh and way back didn't Pac drained himself to make 126-130? Why now it seems that it's only Pac fighting a weight-drained fighters? Barrera, Morales, Marquez - didn't they fought a weight-drained Pacman? And of course Pac's last KO was because he was so weight drained that he already lost his belt before the fight.
Shot- when and how? what are the criteria?
Damaged Good - I read here that Cotto is already a damaged good when Pac fought him. Why? Bec. of that war with Margo? Hatton damaged by Floyd? Really? If that's the logic, then Pacman is the more damaged good than his opponents. If you have watched "The Destroyer" (former nick) since his "Blow By Blow" days on IBC 13 or his championship fights at RPN 9, you can say that Pacman absorbed more punishments than almost (if not all) of his opponents because of his "bara-bara" style. So Pacman is a damaged good, yes or no?
Past Prime - by age? when? how?
Someone lecture me, please :)
Paul Williams is supposed to be damaged goods now and whoever
he fights next is expected to win. The hell with training long hours
and ample preparation. They don't matter. Yeah, that's boxing
according to stupid people in these forums.
quoted for hater's logic.
Ok one for each.
Damaged goods
Antonio Margarito recieved a bad beating against Mosley. On his comeback fights he looked mechanical, slow and with a lack of power. This can be because of his absence of plaster but I don't assuere it. However, his lack of his signature pressure on his next two fights have nothing to do with the suspect plaster thus he can be considered damaged goods.
Weight Drained
The only example of weight drained I can really assure is Manny's fight vs De La Hoya. Oscar was absent from the welter weight division since 2001, Freddy Roach knew this and he even said he knew Oscar couldn't pull the trigger anymore. Being 145 for a fight was something Oscar had not done since facing steve forbes and Julio Cesar Chavez.:lol1:
Shot
You can call a fighter shot after looking at previous fights. Looking at Pacquiao's for-sure opponent for his april bout, we know and can't deny that Shane Mosley past it. The last time I can recall Mosley looking good was against Mergarito's shell and his fights against against Fernando Vargas. He has done nothing to deserve a fight against the Lb4Lb king other than being a really good fighter once-upon-a-time.
There you go shot, weight drained and damaged goods.
I agree this one. De La Hoya was weight drained, Margo was a damaged good and a shot. His other opponents does not belong to that I think...

This is the kind of culture and language they have around here
perpetuated by stupid flomos. In sum, what these stupid people
are basically saying is Pacquiao has been fighting bums (just to
prop up their idol who is still on vacation right now.) Then they
make a complete 180° turnaround saying Pacquiao is using A-side
meth fighting weak fighters. Their screwed-up logic is no end in sight.
The remedy is to spend little time reading and posting in these
forums to preserve your sanity.
What I'd like to know is when the their coward idol is going to fight.
MtClimber, where are you from? Are you one of those 10-in-a-bed Pacquiao camp members off 24/7?
I just have watched The Destroyer since early days but not of what you think.
Back on topic... ?
To TS, you asked questions out of curiosity and an explanation for something which you don't understand and wanted meanings for them to educate yourself. Then you go on replying to other peoples views sucking Pacs balls by answering the questions you asked and disagreeing with others. So from this your either a pacquio nut hugger or a general boxing fan. Pick one because you're confusing me lol
Boxing fan.
I want to know when or how will a fighter become a "damaged good" and "other things" then someone explains it. Based on his explanation, I ask if Pacman is damaged good then. That's where the disagreements come...
Of course, Pacman will be involved here since he's the one who was labeled 'fighting ""those things"" fighters'...

freddie roach said it himself before each and every fight,he invented the shot, damaged goods, can't pull the trigger theory don't blame us lol
and the funny thing is he said it about the opponents HIS FIGHTER was facing lol
and also maidana KO in 6, not lose a single round, KO margo, KO cotto, right?
but back on topic, how can you determine if a boxer is past his prime, a damage good and a shot?

Career defining win against an elite top P4P fighter is when your fighter beats him.
Totally shot and damaged goods is seven months later when the fighter you hate fights him.
Did you not read what I said? Has Khan looked bad since his knockout loss, or been on a steady ascent?
So a fighter is a damaged good if his performance is spiraling down?
If so, Cotto is not because since Margo he beat your Jennings guy and Yuri. Don't tell me they are bum?
And so is Hatton, he bounced back after Floyd. Many thought that he will be schooled by Paulie-but I'm lazy to find those threads/post now.
And what about Clottey, I ask in the previous post if he's weight drained, damaged good or what? And also, is their alternative to Clottey at that time besides Floyd?
Read what I have posted. Has Pacquiao been beaten up bad and then came back in the next 2-3 fights and looked not half as good as he did before the beating? Do you find it hard to read English? If so I can try a google translator for you.
English is not my language but I can understand a little, though it's hard to speak & write. It's better if you can teach me English ;)
KOed twice, KD by Hessein, KD by a Kazakhstan guy past Ledwaba. What can you say about Pac- Morales/Marquez?
Give me examples of what you're talking about in regards to Amir Khan? Corrales was not damaged goods in that sense. He couldn't make the weight and he couldn't compete with the bigger fighters in higher weight classes. He was in alot of wars though, so who knows. The guy is passed away though and I don't want to be disrespectful. What do you think about Meldrick Taylor? Is this a joke? C'mon man.
Prescott fukked Khan so bad everyone thought his career is over after that
do you think Khan is already "damaged goods"?
do you know who Meldrick Taylor is? pls answer
Listen man, learn the language then come again. Pacquiao was not shot or damaged goods in the early stages of his career. Both phrases mean to show a steady decline in the ability of the fighter in question. Say a fighter is great, then he gets beaten up bad, then in every fight after that he looks like sh_t. Jeff Lacy for example. Miguel Cotto for another. The phrase for that is "damaged goods". We all know what shot means, surely.
That red, Pac goes through all that. Who said Pac was not beaten up? That's why I said Pac is also a damaged good if we follow that logic.
And who looks good against Clottey pre-Cotto?

so what about Corrales? Meldrick Taylor? Amir Khan?
are they damaged goods later in their career?
