The thread starter is an idiot and obviously has never boxed in his life, I have problems telling glove sizes and use to compete. You can not tell off the cuff because different brands often look bigger and smaller even though they are the same size. The design and padding is different.
Your not an idiot for not knowing, but are for presuming that all fighters would know straight away exactly what glove size they are dealing with, and even then if it wasn't an honest mistake, why agree to wear 8 oz gloves when they could have contracted 10's in Nevada. Im guessing it was an honest mistake, basically because the reebok glove isn't widely used and Freddie Roach probably missed it as well.
You're the idiot, you think Khan just turns up and uses a model of gloves he's never even tried on before? Old Diaz spotted there was something wrong with them but the fighter that is familiar with them doesn't. Yeah right.

Maidana wore the Everlast MX gloves. I have heard that the MX model of Everlast pro fight gloves are more of a puncher's glove than Cleto Reyes.
I've also noticed that I always see fighters get hurt when getting hit by the Everlast MX gloves. Never seen a fight where a fighter didn't get hurt at some point when getting hit by those things.
So we can all give more credit to Khan's punch resistance.
So Reebok made hime these custom gloves and he couln't tell they were 10oz. Someone that has never boxed in their life would see the difference between a 10oz and an 8oz glove. You're telling me a pro fighter can't feel/see the difference between 10 oz and 8 oz?
actually, when you actually have some level of strenght, that **** can be too light for you to really notice unless your holding both type gloves in each hand to feel the difference
but ofcourse a geek like you would'nt know that
basically maidanas team complained and said khans gloves were too big, they weighed them and were 10.6, so khan changed them. they were kinda stupid, 10.6 gloves benefited maidana as they would have been softer
they were trying to play mind games with khan.
it didn't really work though because dan rafael reported than khan actually preferred everlast.
he only wears reebok because of his contract with them.
because of reebok's mistake he got to use the gloves he prefers.
Khan got hit with clean punches from Maidana who was wearing 8oz gloves. Anyone think that Bradley or Alexander (weaker punches) are going to KO Khan with 10oz gloves? I doubt it.
Yeah it aint gonna happen. Best boxer will win on the night.

Khan tried to use 10 oz gloves, but Diaz spotted it and Khan was forced to choose different gloves.
so they both wore 8 oz gloves??
im even more impressed with his dodgy chin now
He didn't agree to anything, 140 fights are 8oz. 10 oz is only an option at 147.
No im fairly sure 10oz gloves are the norm at 135+ in Nevada but if both fighters agree, they can go to 8oz
didnt they both wear everlast gloves??
what have i missed??

If they fought with 10 oz gloves and lost the fight, his team would've complained like Manny and his team did when he lost to Morales. Khan would've used the excused of not having the right gloves for the fight and that's why he lost the fight.
wait, what? Someone link me to the story

Well if Reebok say they are 8, you kind of take their word... I don't think Khan's team have small scales do they?
Also Khan is pretty dumb, just reading his messages suggests he will be poor one day because he has no brain.
