What fight was Roach watching? He needs to watch the tape. Kahn got knocked out on his feet twice in the fight. Good heart staying up but any other boxer puncher will ko him avoid Prescott, Martinez, Williams if he decides to go up and even Margarito at 147 at all costs.
Khan still has a weak chin, but people are acting as if Maidana didn't land a meaningful shot until the 10th round, which was not the case. Khan was hit by a couple of right hands in the first round which would have buckled him before his move to 140. He was hit by a huge right hand when he was against the ropes in the 3rd, and was hit by more big shots in the 6th and 7th. It wasn't until the 10th when Khan was tired and had switched off that he was finally hurt. Even then he managed to survive several more fight ending shots and ride out the storm.
Amir's chin and punch resistance has definitely improved. It's not great but it is at the least semi-decent.
Khan's chin is good but not great. His Rubber legs will show up again and his chin is definably his biggest weakness.
I agree. Khan's chin is still questionable. And LOL to that rubber legs...He's becoming Mr. Fantastic when his chin gets hit. Good win by khan though

Just what I was thinking, he will get rocked again. But he did show he has heart.
Imagine if he had a better chin and defence.
It's funny but guys like that in the 80s/90s era of great 147, 154 and 160 fighters like the big bangers were better boxers than many of the 'boxers' today! Jackson was a very counter puncher for instance and had some very sneaky shots and a good jab when he used it properly.
I agree though, he would have been a monster with better defence and a sturdy chin. Then again, Tommy Hearns would have been the greatest fighter of all time without doubt with Williams-like stamina and a Margarito-like chin.
He was brutal enough as it was. I suppose that's what made those guys who they were though and changing them would have been wrong. Not as much excitement in Jackson's fights of him going down and being wobbled then coming back and ending the fight with one huge punch! :boxing:
He took more than a hundred clean shots from the hardest puncher in the division and people are still arguing about whether or not he has a chin? Anyone who still thinks he doesn't have a chin is either blind or just plain delusional.
Maybe you missed the fact that Maidana didn't actually land very many clean, hard shots at all. The ones he did land were wide, looping, tired shots that would land at angles and not cleanly or little uppercuts that do damage, like bust his nose up, but not actually hurt bad.
Yeah, I agree with this. He will never have a good chin. Maidana wasn't actually able to land any really hard flush shots. Not any KO shots, but Khan showed that he has great heart and determination which will get him through a lot of situations.
However, he is one of those fighters that when he gets hit with a clean, flush shot he will get the wobbles bad and it could always end from there. You don't have to hit him hard, just clean and it will always be a problem.
Who cares though? His vulnerability does one thing for us, the fans; it creates great, exciting, nail biting fights like he just had with Maidana where he will winning then get cracked and go all wobbly. It's FOTY **** written all over his career because of his determination. Kind of like Terry Norris. Lucky for Khan though there is no one as good as Julian Jackson, Simon Brown, etc he has to fight.
Imagine if he had a better chin and defence.
He showed he is a tough guy with plenty of determination but to me it confirmed that he doesn't really have a good chin, its maybe not as glass as he had a rep for but now his chin status has been bumped up to decent as far as I am concerned.

hahaha SLOW DOWN KHAN!!!
he took a big punch then ran for his life, he proves that his chin is not as weak as it looked against Prescott but I wouldn't go as far as saying "He has a chin"
If Maidana had more energy you wouldve seen Khan crumble like waving tube men from family guy hahahahaha
If Khan had a minute left when he scored the body knockdown, maydanana would have been khanned worse that khan himself against Prescott.
He proved that he can run away when he is in trouble, he is lucky that Maidana is so slow because if Maidana had the speed he stops Khan in that 10th
but Khan deserves credit for using his superior speed and footwork...does he have a chin??? maybe a little but it is a fragile one
his defense is pretty BAD though, all he does is cover up and SKIP AROUND, a boxer with speed and punching accuracy will tear him apart if he doesn't work on that defense
Amir ****ed himself up !!
he spent too much energy early on in the fight, and thats what caused him to get fatigued and caught with a silly shot... His recovery powers are brilliant though
He proved to me hes a different fight all together.. and has what it takes to be a top world class fighter..
To me he showed hes extra ****in tough..
well im not so sure, i wouldnt say he has a good chin. he still did a little dance when he got caught flush in the tenth. however, his ability to take a punch has improved a bit but to say he has a good chin is a bit over the top.
and all this mayweather talk is ridiculous right now. khan has improved alot, but is nowhere near that level right now. he has shown some balls to get through that fight with maidana but he has still got to get in there with the bradley alexander winner and do the business there. is he capable? yeah id say so, but lets wait and see.
:boxing:some people will say this about amirs chin and some will say that about amirs chin but at the end the kid showed much improvement and took hard shots. his chin i agree way better than before and not yet at the point where we can be like his chin is not an issue no more. regardless amir did what he had to and won the bout, lets see how he does again when his chin is tested once again:boxing:
