But, in the 1st round alone Khan tried to touch gloves and Maidana took it as an opportunity and attempted a leaping left hook, whether or not Khan was intimidated by Maidana, it was still a b*tch move on Marcos's part. Oh, and I can relate to what you're sayin', but, with me, I just hit 'em in the balls (and pretend it was an accident), when I feel my opponent is starting to come on and I'm losing steam, hehe. In sparring, the chances are that the guy who is beating me is A) a superior fighter and B) in better shape. If I hit him in the nuts, he'd probably just get more pissed and beat me up worse lol. On topic, it reminds me of when Freitas went down in the sixth and seventh rounds against Corrales and then tried to touch gloves before the eighth. He was ultimately knocked down again and quit.

That was one ***** move, there's no rules for touching gloves, it's more of a respect. Maidana showed no respect it's all good but when you try to throw like he did it was a ***** move.

I used to do that in sparring when I was getting beaten up. To allay the fear and dread I was going through, I would complain of some imaginary foul, walk away for a second, and then try to touch gloves. It would make me think that, hey, this guy isn't a monster.It's possible. Though touching gloves is not in the rules, it's a tradition. Maidana shows he's tough as hell, but if he would've knocked Amir in that situation, I wouldn't have given him a lot of credit. its called sportsmanship. Something that Maidana doesn't have any of. Before the fight even started he spilled a bunch of water onto the mat. Then he throws a punch right at the opening bell when Khan wanted to touch gloves. Then he was constantly hitting behind the head. He got in a couple low blows. He attempted to throw an elbow lmao. It serves him right getting outboxed 10 rounds to 2 and hitting the canvas from a body shot. The punch stats showed that Khan got his revenge BIG TIME lmao

It would be a pretty low move but I also agree it set the tone straight away, this guy is a badass and he's here to take you down.

Outside of the 12th round when the ref directs you to touch gloves, when the bell sounds it's time to fight. You can try to touch gloves, but understand that you might get punched in return. Floyd did the same thing to Shane. Khan tried to jump on Maidana every time he tugged at his trunks. Should he have waited out of respect?

Yes, Why? Because Maidana wasnt here to be friendly. Hes here to kill you. No, no he's not. And if he is trying to kill anybody the guy should be behind bars. Boxing is a sport, not a back street brawl, it's disciplined.....that's why fighters wear gloves, protective clothing. It's not about trying to kill anybody, at all. Khan tried to touch gloves at the start of rounds 1 and 11 and both times Maidana tried to take his head off. Ah, you're right, it was the start of the 11th, not 12th. 'Cause I remember thinking "Why is Khan trying to touch gloves now? Usually you touch gloves at the start of the 1st and the start of the final round, is Khan punch drunk from the beating he got in round 10 and he thinks it's the final round already?"
