Andre's competition has been less than stellar. However, I hear people say he hasn't fought anybody, then when he wants to step up to the plate and fight to level competition, people say he doesn't deserve it. Which one is it? Who does he need to fight to gain respect? It's slim pickings in the WW division right now, who is there for Andre to fight at WW? I doubt Floyd or Manny fights him, so w ho should he fight Joshua Clottey, Kermit Cintron(assuming he can go back down to WW), what other options are there at WW? Mike Jones? If he fights a top JWW like Khan, Bradley, Alexander, etc I think people will say he's picking on a smaller fighter, a la Urango. So who should he fight?
Another thing.
You dudes know Dan well Cotto or Marg ain't fighting berto. Bob getting them lined up to fight each other. Mosley fighting pac. Only one that leaves is Josh "I always find a way to lose" Clottey. And what does he prove by fighting him.
I mean after that. Berto was supposed to fight mosley instead of mora. Priced himself out and fought an absolute bum instead.
Smfh @ asking for 50/50 after Mosley got his azz whooped over pricing yourself. Sh1t if that's the case Mosley didn't want the fight either asking for more then 50/50
Cotto for his title at 154 or zaveck with both titles on the line at 147. That is of course assuming no manny. I don't want to see anyone fight margarito until his suspension is lifted, so forget that matchup.
Berto was set to fight Mosley. He pulled out when the quake hit Haiti.

I'm trying to show you that fighters can progress and improve.
Of course they can. However, Berto should not have been the champion if his thing was to be a prospect and progress and improve. Once you win that title he has to step up the level of comp. It has been 2 years now and almost half of his defenses has been against JWW's and he is talking about fighting another JWW next. No bueno...........
Who would've thought he would do that after being KO by two bums in Singsurat and Torrecampo, as a professional?
Why do you keep comparing apples and oranges?
What about Pac? In 2001, at the age of 21 he was already a 2 division champion, and a lineal champion. He had already accomplished more than what Berto has so far. And, had a KO victory over Ledwaba which was a better win that Berto against Collazo. Considering it was decisive and that Pac did it on a 3 week notice and Ledwaba at worse was considered the 2nd best SBW at the time.

Ok, I agree, but I choose to with hold judgement on Dre until I see him get the chance to prove himself. Would would've thought your beloved Pacquiao would become the fighter he became? You never know.......

Not a top 10 a fighter in any weight-class not even close so not even worth talking about.
If Berto wasn't a World champion for 2 years(winning it against a Mexican cop) then there would be no issue here.
If JCC Jr would have won the WBC title against Matt Vanda then he would be in the same boat as Berto.

If Berto is protected, what is Chavez?

What about him?
He is not a World champion...
He is not even rated in the top 10 in a weight-class on any respectable rankings

Ok, what about Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. asswipe?

he doesnt deserve big dogs yet
dude needs to fight collazo again to prove that he's at least better than luis
then he can go from there
ouali, ayden, bailey, all these guys suggeswted are steps down frmo collazo, with whom he went life and death
He could be something but its about time for us to find out and for him to stop holding the WBC belt hostage already.
Sink or swim time for Berto.
I agree, I will pass judgement on him when he faces top level opposition. I don't understand why so many people hate on him when he hasn't gotten the chance to prove himself yet? Lets see what he's made of.......
:lol1:
What are you saying that you're high? I hope so comparing a 2yr champion level of opposition to a prospect level of opposition.
Ok, what about Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. asswipe?
Alvarez is still developing as a pro, there is no talk about him being a world class fighter and he isn't a world champion unless you count the silver contender belts.
Jr. is garbage and everyone knows he will never be anything in the sport so who cares.
Don't you feel the same way about Berto?
