Khan Maidana Weigh-in discussion

Link: HBO Weigh-in (thanks to dodmoor) Results Amir 130 Maidana 129 I always have problems with watching weigh-ins and the time zones etc. I end up missing them. To anybody interested the weigh in is 10:30 pm UK time and will be shown on Sky Sports News (thanks to lfc19titles) and 2:30pm Vegas time (thanks to bcfc) Some alternate times and info below. I'll try and put links up around the time it starts. I'm not sure if golden boy website has the weigh-in live not been around boxing long enough to know. reply in thread if you have particular links to share anyway 9.30 am AEST (Australia?) Nah Maidana is very marketable an exciting brawler with a huge punch aint hard sold like Khan is the more marketable but Maidana without a doubt is marketable

Who promotes Maidana? I thought he is promoted by GBPs? Also, I believe Peterson has a free contract now and if he wins, GBP's will most likely buy him as a fighter. That is true, but you have to realize GBP signed Ortiz str8 out of the amateurs and spent countless hours and tons of $ trying to build him as the face of GBP. He was there guy. And Kahn is there other guy. Signing him couldn't of been cheap, until he makes Major $ GBP won't make much $ off of him. Maidana and Peterson don't sell anything. GBP might have there rights, but they don't represent the future.

Maidana's style would win over fans not that boring running style the other two fighters you mentioned. Hit and run because they're too scared of there opponents to fight them like warriors. Hell no Maidana is Too 1 dimensional, will lose to any mediocre boxer with a chin, and doesnt speak english. Khan has an entire country behind him and will be HUGE with a win streak. Maidana is not going to win over anyone

At the beginning of the weigh in stream, the British broadcast team interviewed Oscar. He CLEARLY wants Khan to win. Maidana is just an opponent in Oscar's eyes. because he has a 3 fight contract with Khan with a guaranteed $1m so if khan loses he is ****ed. But watch him get on Maidana's nuts if he wins.

Khan looks pretty ripped and in great shape. Maidana looked very guant and pale leading up to the fight but looked in good physical shape and weighed a pound under the limit. Maybe Maidana is weight-drained afte rall and he over-trained and dehydrated himself a bit too much over the last few days... On the other hand, he could be in the shape of his life. He usually has a bit of fat on his body, none at all today though! Khan in the best shape of his life, with 8oz gloves = Maidana getting owned, 11th TKO win for Khan! if it was a battle of physiques maidana prob won imo ...

Yea but Peterson and Maidana winning would be a huge hit Khan and Ortiz could be huge stars in the future with wins whereas Maidana and Peterson are going nowhere even with wins, they just arent as promotional as Khan and Otriz

Maidana and Peterson have a chance to cause the worst day in the history of GBP since Pac Beat on Hoya. no doubt ... i even mentioned on a previous post this is a total physical mismatch, more in reference to speed and athleticism but also assuming there would be a size advantage for khan. that def does not appear to be the case

I am disappointed with the HBO stream, plus no action in the weigh-in itself. The best bit was the heavy weights weigh in for some reason dude had big arms. Khan looked pretty phenomenal though as expected. Maidana can't suss him out he doesn't look 'pale' to me how people say.
