What should JMM do to get the Pac rematch?

I am with most of the boxing fans here not wanting the Mosley fight. No point to this fight except maybe for economic reasons if I have to believe Arum. I want to see Pac fight Berto, Martinez, or Jmm. I have to agree with Arum statement the Berto fight is unmarketable. Though, I believe this fight will add to Pac’s legacy since Berto is a young champ with decent speed and power. Arum being a businessman, this fight might be the last on his list. Martinez won’t fight lower than 154, so this fight won’t be happening at the near future. That leaves us with the remaining Jmm option. Marquez however, insulted Pac and is still doing it. Knowing Pac as a proud man, this fight should be at the bottom of his list. Pac however, is also a gentleman and wants to fight for the fans… What then should jmm do to convince Pac to give him the rematch and payday? What are the boxingscene members thought on these? Would apologizing for the insults and sacrificing on the split do it? Why dont he just go the Cellestino Cabellero route and be totally disrespectful to Pac. Half the losers and fans will say Pac is scared to fight him if he doesn't fight.

Nothing will get Pac to accept a 3rd fight with JMM. Marquez has done it all...he even flew all the way to Pac's hometown to call him out and that didn't even work. I say Pac just does not want to fight JMM again, and I don't blame him. Money..Give Pac whatever he is looking for for money. It would strike up more interest for the fight. If JMM wants it as bad as he says, then he will take a pay cut.

Why is Marquez better than Mosley for Pac ??? After losing badly to Floyd, Marquez has been fighting nothing but recycled Lightweights in Juan Diaz and Michael Katsidis, already beaten by himself or other fighters he's already beaten. And Marquez couldn't even fill up 5,000 seats in the arena! He hasn't even tested the waters at Junior Welter. JMM just looking for a big pay day, nothing more.

needs to recognise he needs pac not pac needing him he needs to accept bit lower split thn 50/50. he needs to negotiate a middleground weight wise,allow manny to weigh anywhere from 140 to 147,prob pac goes 136 fight night,lowers pound or 2 for speed,he should be good enough to move up to about 145 fight night himself. needs to get media campaign,stats evidence that hes bigger draw than shane, and him fighting pac is a bigger draw with more demand and interest. be tough but respectfull to all involved.

Marquez will have to: Lose a fight, come off an unimpressive win, get stopped, or all of the above. As long as he keeps looking good, he won't get a fight with Pacquiao.

He can do his famous trick ( lay down on the floor flat facing upward and piss like a rainbow into his mouth) and maybe Pac might buy into it.

1. He should lose his next fight and look horrible. 2. He should sign with Bob Arum. 3. He should agree to 147lbs. Possibly a 154 title defence for the WBC title.

JMM’ to do list to make the fight happen. 1.Apologize for the insults. Going to Pac hometown and personally apologizing should be a classy act. The Pinoys would see this as a gentleman’s approach and might even urge Pac to give jmm a shot. Jmm should get the Pinoy fans to do the promoting for him. 2.Since both fighters come-in during fight nights at welterweight (141-147), Jmm should propose that they both weigh-in at any weight they are convenient with as long as they are WW during fight night. this should be the easiest obstacle to hurdle. 3.50/50 split is unthinkable at this point of both fighters’ career. Jmm should propose something that Pac’s camp can’t refuse. 80/20 if Pac wins and 65/35 if Marquez wins. Anything boxing fans can add? The above three points might just get the fight happening. Jmm should hurry since Arum and Pac’s camp are set to make a decision before the year ends.

I agree that JMM deserves the fight. I disagree that Pacquiao should come down in weight. Pac will weigh in 144-146 anyway, so no need for a catchweight. It wouldn't help JMM at all, he just came in under the LW limit again....he's a little guy. At this point (@ww) Marquez has absolutely no chance. But he should get the fight over Mosley. Thing is...it won't happen early in the year...it'll probably happen around Mexican independence day. Pac should fight Mosley in April or May...then Marquez in September (although he'll be 38 or so by that time). Pacquiao gets two $20m+ paydays. JMM gets his last big contract.
