Oscar- Against the drained and faded Oscar that Manny beat at 147, I actually think Marquez outboxes him to a unanimous decision.
Hatton- I like Ricky, I really do, but the man was so overrated. If Marquez, instead of Manny fought him in May of 2009 at 140, he wouldn't have been knocked out, but Marquez would've made Ricky look like an amateur.
Cotto- The Cotto fight would've been mismatch in my opinion. It's also the fight that separated Manny from Marquez. Marquez is the best counter puncher not named Floyd Mayweather Jr, but he would've been knocked out by Cotto if they fought at 145.
Clottey- would be too big and strong at 147 and likely would've KO'd JMM.
Margarito- Marquez and Margarito are both Mexican, but stylistically they could not be any more different from each other. Marquez has skills, Margarito has relentlessness. That being said, I think the Margarito who fought Pacquiao would've beaten Marquez down and knocked him out.
I think he means that of the five fighters in question, Clottey and Margarito lost their last big fights prior to fighting Manny. I think maybe he forgot that Margarito fought a no-namer after being knocked out by Shane.
So he was wrong about Margarito, and considering Pac fought the guy Clottey lost to and that fight was razor thin anyway.. Weak.

JMM definitely loses to Cotto, Clottey and Margarito. I can see people making cases for Hatton and Oscar tho. Oscar looked like a crackhead fight night and Hatton is a brawler and that style matches up pretty good for someone like JMM and Hatton isn't overly big.
I think JMM might go down, but in the end Hatton's seeing stars or completely outboxed. Cotto, Clottey and Margarito give Marquez major problems.
all 5 of those hit a whole lot harder than Juan f'n Diaz...JMM would die
You would have to compensate JMM being a true LW and then even it up by CWing those 5 just a few pounds more than what Manny did ,,,,, Then things might be very different , you guys always blow the CW off , it makes and has made a lot of difference to Mannys fights , maybe thats why Roach is strong in his NO CW NO FIGHT policy ,,,, you really think he does it for fun lol
Even Hatton at 140? After seeing Marquez knock out Diaz and Katsidis, I'm not sure he does any worse against Ricky and his disdain for defense.
Marquez basically weighed 140 against Floyd, and Hatton beats that guy. Marquez doesn't have the speed and power Pacquiao had against Hatton.
At the same weights as Pac fought them, Marquez gets slaughtered. The only one he might beat is Oscar, because Oscar was stick figure, but even that's highly unlikely.

I like Marquez and think he couold have beaten Hatton, but Margarito,Cotto, and Clottey would have been to big and too strong for him. I feel Oscar beats him as well.
Any fighter juiced up can do the impossible... so, yes!!! Marquez would own all of them and move all the way to Heavyweight and beat Arreola. I wished JMM would've juiced up like Manny.
But he did.
those five opponents had lost 40% of their fights before manny.
LOL, yeah if you combined all their fights and their losses. But if you put them individually, then it would be diffirent percentage.
Oscar will throw more punches compare to Pac fight. JMM will probably get knockdown in the first half. The 2nd half will favor JMM cuz Oscar is getting tired. JMM by closed UD or split decision.
I don't think Hatton will get his way with JMM. JMM either by wide UD or late KO.
Cotto has speed and power and it will hurt JMM. Cotto by TKO(ref stoppage or towel of Nacho).
Clottey is not a KO artist but his size and speed will dominate JMM. Clottey by UD.
Margarito has a good chin and even was able to hurt Pac. Marg was also doing OK with the jab. If JMM is corner, he will fight back just like the Diaz figth but his facing a bigger guy and Juan will take damage. Margarito by TKO, ref stoppage or Nacho throwing in the towel.
Even at his prime, JMM by going up to WW division will slow him down.

The f*ck are you talking about? :lol1:
And the only fight that Marquez would have a chance of winning would've been against Hatton, and possibly Oscar. Other than that, those guys are way too big and strong for Juan Manuel. He would've been KO'd by Cotto and Tony and rendered useless by Clottey.
