After he beats Katsidis, where does he go? He's almost been frozen out now, not good enough or big enough to compete with Pacquiao and Mayweather, no big names at 135 and maybe too small for 140? At least Sergio can move down and fight or move up to 168.
I think he has to move up again for a big fight, sure he can make $ fighting the Soto's of this world but wont find a super fight. I just question how he'd do against some of the 140's.
He'll fight Erik Morales @ 135lb's.
I hope that fight never happens. That fight should have happened years ago. If JMM pulled off the win he would not get credit. Hell i'm one of the biggest JMM fans and I wouldn't give him credit for it. Hopefully he prevails over Katsidis and goes after Guerrero or Soto.
:Mexico:
Katsidis is no cupcake. I have him beating JMM at this point. How much can he take from a faster man who unlike Diaz, has some pop to go with his workrate? Don't expect a blowout, but I think Katsidis takes a UD and does some damage along the way. If JMM were to win, I wouldn't want him to chance 140. LW appears to be his physical limit. Fight Soto or Guerrero next if they don't fight each other or go to 140 themselves.
he already said hes going to focus on 140 in 2011 so if he dont get manny look for him to focus on his 4th world title making history. id like to see 140 play out like this
khan vs maidana winner vs winner bradley vs devon
marquez van face off against the winner of ortiz vs peterson
and whoever wins that face off against the champion
That worries me. I just don't think he can cut it at 140, but he can at least get some paydays.
He can keep talking bout how he has supposedly beaten Pac two times, all while Pac secures himself a sport along boxing's greatest fighters to ever have lived.
After he beats Katsidis, where does he go?
he has options
He's almost been frozen out now, not good enough or big enough to compete with Pacquiao and Mayweather,
he might be able to get pac at 140 lbs
no big names at 135
he can call up juanma from 126 lbs. he can rematch chris john. he can fight the winner of urbano/soto or guerrero.
and maybe too small for 140?
he can test the waters there by fighting kotelnik or urango. then he can fight the loser of bradley/alexander or khan/maidana.
I think he has to move up again for a big fight, sure he can make $ fighting the Soto's of this world but wont find a super fight.
he should look to move up to 140 lbs, get a paper strap to say he did it for mexico. then fight pac at 140 lbs.
I just question how he'd do against some of the 140's.
bradley - tough but winnable fight for JMM. bradley doesn't have the power to hurt JMM, but JMm will have to worry about bradley's speed, volume punching and his mobility as JMM isn't getting any younger or faster. If he wants to, he could brawl with bradley, but it's not advised as bradley should have better handspeed. there's no way bradley should be able to outbox JMM.
alexander - another tough but winnable fight for JMM. alexander has the power to hurt JMM, he's faster, and more mobile, but he throws a lot of unnecessary punches that JMM might be able to counter. JMM needs to be patient and wait for countering opportunities.
khan - very tough fight, but JMM has a puncher's chance. He shouldn't fight Khan. khan's height, reach, and speed of hand and feet, and that jab will be very difficult for jmm to get past. plus roach knows jmm and will have the perfect gameplan. of course khan is chinny, so jmm might get the KO with enough persistence and if he takes 2 punches to land 1.
maidana - easiest fight at 140 lbs for JMM. JMM easily outboxes maidana. he better not brawl w/ maidana tho. he might get KOed.

He can beat the Victor Ortiz's and Marcos Maidanas of the world (although Maidana is one scary fight) but he'd be out of his depth against Alexander or Bradley when he'd come in the ring at 137, 138 and have to work his ass off to get there. The prospects seem to be drying up for Dinamita, considering he cleared up the Lightweight division in the past two years.
