Williams shouldn't get a rematch.

He doesn't deserve it. He got knocked out just like Quintana did; Quintana didn't get a rematch. So the first fight was a fluke.. Williams didn't even last two full rounds. I agree, for me Martinez won both fights, this one he just demolished him. Funny thing is Williams never really even earned his shot at the titles in the MW division..so at this point he should drop back and at least have to fight in an eliminator or two.

An immediate rematch would be terrible for Paul anyway.

I really don't think there is any need for a rematch. Is it not clear that Martinez is a special fighter yet? He already beat Williams in the first fight, this time he felt the KO was his best option instead of being robbed by the judges yet again. Martinez said prior to the fight he was defiantly going to knock Williams out, this was no lie either. People want to say it's a freak accident well I'd say otherwise... Did you not see Martinez waiting for the OVERHAND LEFT from the very first round????? I have no doubt in my mind that shot was practised in the gym the whole time, he knew Williams would walk righ into it it, i'm telling you Martinez had this all panned out maybe not to brutally KO him but the shot was REHEARSED.

I think what you fail to mention is that Quintana said he didn't want a third fight. It came out of his own mouth.

He shouldn't get a rematch because Martinez was robbed in the first fight so as far as I'm concerned, he's 2-0 against Williams.

You can't arguably be given a gift. He won a close fight and I think he deserves a rematch. That KO was off of an almost fluke punch. Before anybody gets their panties in a bunch, I thought that Martinez should win the fight and he definitely deserved to win it. But that one punch he landed was almost a freak accident that it landed so perfectly on P-will's chin. Nobody thought Sergio had one punch put you to sleep power before tonight. So I think that Williams should be given a chance to redeem himself. Boxing is voted on by judges. some are going to go one way while others another. i think he lost the first fight, you think he won. see? and martinez said he was going to knock him out before this fight happened. and guess, what? he did. you think it was luck? Dude was hitting Williams with those hooks since the first round, only difference was the man with the shorter reach, came in, and threw a shorter punch and connected in the exchange. Exchanges are going to happen With two boxers who actually fight, and I'd say more often than not, the man with the shorter reach is going to connect a lot more inside than the man with the longer reach. Am i totally against a rematch? no. but he doesn't deserve one right now.

well, one thing is for sure why williams shouldn't take a rematch, he needs to regroup and see what level of the game he still can hang at, his nerves got rewired. i thought it was funny in another thread where some jerky said, " williams will be ok, it was a flash ko, he was talking fine in the interview "... hahahaha, a flash KO, i know of a flash KD knockdown, but a flash knockout and one of the more devastating kind is when the fighter falls face first without bracing his impact, laying lifeless..... i hope the flash knockout guy isnt a fighters advisor.....!!!!!
