Those Floyd fans saying JMM beat Pac twice so Floyd will beat him easily is far from the truth. The fact is...Pac beat JMM twice and went life and death with Pac. Though it was a close fight that can go either way, there's no way those fights was too easy for JMM. IF Floyd wants to fight Pac now. He has to remember he is not fighting the Pac who fought JMM twice at lower division where he might draining himself up and not a complete fighter as he is right now. He has to remember he is fighting the Pac who made Oscar quit, ko Hatton in 2, who gave a brutal beating to Cotto, Clottey and Margarito who is much bigger than him. Floyd fighting Pac right now is really dangerous to his protected "0". That is why he is so reluctant and asking for useless OST. Pac will bring many things that were missing in all Floyd opponents in his 5 fights at welterweight.
Floyd last 5 welterweight opponents.
Shane Mosley - decent chin, power puncher but really old in his age and the lack of stamina, foot speed, etc...
Juan Manuel Marquez - well as a lightweight there is nothing we can say about him as he was not belong to this weight.
Ricky Hatton - same as above clearly not belongs to 147.
Carlos Baldomir - well you know..there is nothing to say about him how great he is.
Zab Judah - he has a fast hand maybe faster than Floyd and Pac but lacks of stamina, chin and heart.
As you can see above maybe except Mosley but he is old now. There is no comparison if you compare their level against Pac opponents here (Cotto, Clottey, and Margarito) let alone you compare them to Pac.
Pac a great southpaw, Floyd will not able to use effectively his shoulder roll stance against Pacquiao. Things missing against Floyd 5 welterweight opponents are:
Foot speed - Floyd 5 last opponents at welterweight were lacking of foot speed to mach his foot speed. So after they throw their punches Floyd countered them with 1 or 2 punches shield up and moves away then reset.
blinding 5-8 power combos with deadly accuracy - well none of that as well can do with ease repeatedly until round 12.
Stamina - we all know Pac will not fade until the end unlike some of the above.
Chin and body resistance - Pac since coming up at welterweight his punch resistance shoot up as well. Oscar, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey and Margarito can't even really hurt him as close to going down. They might hurt him but he still can punch them 5-7 combos to stop them hurting him more.
Power - If Pac can hurt Cotto and Margarito with his punches. I don't see he will not hurt Floyd who is smaller than them.
So by using the above Pac attributes against Floyd. This is what I think the fight will play out.
As the bell rings, Pac and Floyd will meet at the middle of the ring. Pac looking for an opening against Floyd's superior defense, while Floyd looking to counter Pac for anything he throws. Pac throws a right jab and left straight to the body, Floyd countered him with 1 or 2 upstairs then cover up and moves away. This what I think all Pac attributes I mentioned above that lacking in Floyd previous opponents will come into play. While Floyd counters Pac with his blinding 1 or 2 well known pot shot then defense up and moves away. Pac either hits by 1 or 2 Floyd fast counters, Pac has a chin and body punch resistance that can withstand Floyd's any shots for while. While Floyd defense up and moves away, Pac has the great fast foot speed which can close the gap immediately to unleash his blinding 5-8 power combos then out while Floyd covered himself up and reset. This scenario Pac can do to Floyd in the course of 12 rounds. Its really interesting what Floyd adjustment on this scenario. If he do this till the end then I see Pac stopping him late or UD him. You thought?
floyd totally dominates him and stops him by round 8 or 7, maybe 6, hell, why not 5, oh well then, 4, ****--fukk it 3, hmmmm 2 sounds good, maybe round 1---
it really doesn't matter--but manny will not see past the 8th round--that i do know---no sweat off his back though----floyd is punishing him---and yes, it will be easy---
You all off your heads. As much as I think it is 50/50, as usual this topic has always a biased view. Your missing the fact that Pacquio plays well against come-forward toe-to-toe offensive style boxers. And of those started to fight blatantly head on and underestimate Manny and i must admit Manny does well.
Except for Clottely who was a purely defensive 1-D fighter, which we knew Pac was gonna win by a landslide. So Pac is elusive against these fighters and styles make fights. I was surprised how he handled these fighters. You missed one vital piece of information, which fighter in Mannys recent record shows he squares well with a technically sound and a defensive fighter who places his shots well instead of brawling? The fact is Manny is at a huge disadvantage and i blame the whole Pac camp for that albeit they made a lot of money on the way and made him a star. Roach and Co are hoping Floyds legs have gone, and Mayweather if he is scared is more scared of losing his zero that fighting Pac.
Just so you know if they ever fight, my heart tells me Pac would win but my head says otherwise. People just got to be realistic.
I think that Mayweather wins this fight similar to the Hatton fight in the sense they maybe trade rounds for the first 5 or so and then Floyd just goes into cruise control for a UD. I don't think anyone would seriously expect Manny to outpoint Floyd over 12 rounds. Manny's best shot at a win is like a perfect punch like he did vs. Ricky. What people fail to realize is that Floyd has never been seriously hurt. His D is too good and Manny's gonna need a drastically different approach than his seven punch combo to a static punching bag like clotttey or margarito.
I can see Floyd running all night.
Floyd will be avoiding Manny most of the fight, utilizing his shoulder roll will be less effective against a southpaw. Floyd will be in a high guard defensive stance mainly. He will try to avoid Manny from turning him and keeping him in front of him. This is where Manny will have to match floyds footwork to keep the pressure constant and the distance close.
It really depends on each fighters punch resistance and speed in regards to the other.
If Floyd can hurt Pac, he will be more aggressive. This is actually the key for Floyd to win a UD.
If Manny can hurt floyd, he will KO him early.
3 scenarios:
1) pac stops wifebeater early before wifebeater is adjusted to pac's style
2) pac outworks wifebeater for a decision
3) pac outworks and stops wifebeater late rounds stoppage either saved by his corner or the ref.

Nice, but Floyd will try to clinch, after throwing 1-2's
I can see that. Pac can adjust by jumping back a bit while Floyd tries to clinch. The amount of space will give Pac the opportunity to unleash his 5-8 combos on Floyd upper body while his hands down as he is trying to clinch.
Good analysis. I think Floyd adjust after he throws his 1-2 pot shots by hugging Pac like a long lost bf!
lol! Pac with his fast footwork then adjust by jumping back a bit while Floyd trying to hug him and Pac unleash his combos upstairs!
