I know there're countless bs threads dissing both of these guys, but I haven't come across one with this title:
Would Pacquiao, Mayweather actually be a good fight?
There's a massive amount of intrigue, the two best fighters of this generation. Both have contrasting styles but both have similar assets; speed, footwork, next level stamina. The hype would be unreal and it would be a spectacular event.
So after all this will the fight actually be exciting? After all the fuss and hype, what if it's sh1t?
Anyways....
What constitute a "good fight"?
• Lots of action? Rock'em-Sock'em types?
• Technical and strategic fight?
• Both?
• Domination by one?
From the purists' standpoint, any kind of pugilism is "good". I just want to see them both confirm their status as the "bests".
All of these are just mere expectations meets reality.
I suppose a good fight is a good technical/strategic fight with plenty of action.
i think i don't want this fight to happen. i don't want pacquiao being the bad guy after not stepping on the brakes after the referee tells him to stop on hitting fraud's pretty face.
i just remembered andre dirrell... floyd would then win via disqualification. then he will go for the real retirement.
You know...I'm fine with that!
There would be alot of Mayweather-Mosley round 2 in it. It would be interesting to see how Mayweather will cope with that for 12 rounds.
Wouldn't be anything like that.
I predict a trilogy. They both win a fight and then the third and final farewell showdown for both guys. Its going to be epic!!!
haha I that would be funny if it turned out to be a trilogy.
The excitement would just be too overwhelming for it to be boring, it will start off slow and there will be constant chanting of 'Manny Manny'. Also expect commotion when Manny lands anything.

honestly, in terms of action, it will be boring because wifebeater will run like a biitch and pac wil have to chase him.
but this fight needs to happen.

Its not going to be a war, but it will still be a good fight just to see them fight each other. Each swing will make everyone hold their breath, it probably won't deserve "fight of the year" but it will win simply because of the event. The atmosphere will be unmatched by any other fight out there, that alone will make it worth the wait.
Sh1t he turn it up against mosley. Matter of fact after he got tagged twice he started walking mosley down pressing the fight.
Man as a fan I can't wait for this fight. Sh1t as Floyd fan I fo to say he will be in the fight that people always wanted him in.
I was a Mayweather fan until he turned *****, I miss those 130/135 days. Your right about the Mosley fight, he turned it on but then chilled once he put Mosley in check and he stopped throwing.
I do hope my scenario comes to play for 2 reasons, first so the fight isn't a snore and second I think it'll up Pac's chances of KO'ing Floyd. At this point Floyd isn't physically what he was @ 130 and Pac thrives on exchanges.
Depends on your definition of a good fight and who won. Either way, though, whoever wins would have to put on an inch perfect performance which would be something to watch.
I think It'll start out boring as May tries to potshot a win but Pac will start catching him and we may be blessed to see the old Mayweather again. At that point I see round after round of war until one man's body give out.l
I can dream, can't I?

Very good post! All too often, fights are determined to be "good" or "bad" based solely upon the amount of damage both fighters take as opposed to other pugilistic factors that you stated above. There are many kinds of "good" fights!
During their first negotiations, I had Mayweather without a doubt winning this match but may be leaning slightly towards Pacquiao if for no other reason than for seeing him fight more and being able to gauge his current form. Mayweather's inconsitency of getting in the ring is leaving me with to many variables to comfortably be able to pick him as a clear cut winner. I hope it happens.
Now this is spot on what's going on. Floyd not fighting is leaving people in doubt. Manny smoking cats don't make it no better.
And you know what Floyd not fighting make the betting lines closer then what it would be. Sh1t he might f-ck around and be the underdog.
It would be more technical then people expect. Quiet as kept I expect both to box for the first 4-5 rds. What I expect to happen is manny will try to turn it up(because dudes loves to make it a fight) and then that's when it will get exciting to boxing purist like us.
Sh1t might be a modern day classic.
Also both fighters have shown that if they get hurt they will turn it the f-ck up.
I think Pacquiao-Mosley would be a more exciting fight but Pacquiao-Mayweather has much more importance to it. Pacquiao will no doubt be the one everyone looks to to make the fight exciting. I still want to see this fight come to fruition. It will be very tactical for the first 4 rounds and then I would expect Pacquiao to turn it up and start taking some more chances.
