what's ridiculous about williams' catchweight demand is that martinez doesn't really have any size advantage over him. ^^^^^^this. And they pretty much fight in the same weight class, it's not like they need to meet in the middle. But what's more surprising is how he got Martinez to agree to it, Martinez signs the contract and then complains about it...wtf? Sorry, I like Martinez, but it's pointless now.

Williams knows Martinez is better than him and needs all the help he can get.

I agree with Martinez, but its far too late for that. He didn't believe he'd have difficulty getting down that far? Martinez is a muscular stocky guy. Williams on the other hand is a twig. No way should Martinez accepted this fight at a catch weight if Williams can already make MW easily.

The best thing about the catchweight is that Martinez is at more of an advantage is anyone has one. Williams isn't the bulkiest guy and he's shorter than Williams He'll most likely make the weight just as easily if not more easily. Lame move by Williams, I don't like catchweights when only one fight likes the idea. Like when Manny does it, or when Floyd tried to trick Marquez with his, then was a full-blown Welterweight anyway. Ehh, at the end of the day... MARTINEZ WINS. Just because Martinez is shorter, doesn't necessarily make him the "smaller" fighter in a sense. If you look at the body composition of both, Martinez appears to be fuller and more muscular, while Williams appears to be skinnier and bonier. Size is not only relegated to height. So the catchweight benefits Williams more. Using 147 as the barometer, William's last fight at 147 was in 2008, whille Martinez's last fight at 147 was in 2001.

Drug testing rules and regulations are in place for a reason too. Mayweather shouldn't try to influence the governing and sanctioning bodies to change already existing regulation to gain a competitive advantage over a naturally smaller man. CATCHWEIGHT TITLE BOUTS are BS; plain and simple. Williams fought Sergio at 160 before; I have no idea why he's changing the circumstances right now. But the difference between this and Margarito vs. Pac is that ONE OF THE COMPETITORS IS AN ACTUAL CHAMP IN THE RESPECTIVE DIVISION BEING FOUGHT IN. Both are also ranked in the middleweight division.
