i can't help but laugh when reading the comments on this thread
each and every pac stan here now probably has their head burrowed between their hands whilst in tears Pac's blatant ducking
Or they choose to ignore it and blame Mayweather regardless.
Mayweather's been ducking real fighters since 2002.
Fact.
If you say so. Floyd gets to be p4p #1 and get paid $20+ mil to fight by ducking real fighters. Right. Peace!
Wilbon and the "Decision", Berman and the Farve saga. Rafael with Manny. Look, I get ESPN's stance. They are a business and they get more ratings by featuring the more popular athlete and skewing stories so they don't turn off a large fanbase. But less opinion and more fact would be helpful.
Exacly many people don't even know that ESPN trying to sensationalize and skew things in one of the reasons the NFL network was created.

ESPN has long ago moved away from real journalism. ESPN is more like a sports tabloid channel. ESPN = the TMZ/ MediaTakeOut of sports.

EXACTLY. Then Kornheiser goes, "I'll defer to you." Mike Wilbon is entitled to his opinion. He likes boxing as much as he likes dancing with the stars. Mike should have Manny come on and ask him directly do you want to fight floyd. If he says "my promoter telss..." mike should cut him off and ask, "not your promoter, what do you want to do?"
Unbiased journalism would be nice from ESPN.

First off Mike Wilbon called PBF a coward not ESPN. I would at least consider that opinion if Wilbon actually followed boxing right now but he doesn't and has said so on past episodes of PTI. I could care less what he has to say about the fight not getting made.

these guys dont even watch nor know anything about boxing... they didnt even see the fight and instead comment about floyd being a coward.. but why not have a simple conversation about boxing? the truth shows thier they are ignorant.
Oh give up, Mayweather's a stubborn dude; he's never allowed the media to dictate what he does. They should invest more time in tellin' Pacquiao to agree to take the full test, atleast try because really....this attempt to bait Floyd has failed countless of times and most likely it'll fail again.
I don't think it's baiting anymore. They're just ridiculing Floyd for being such a puss!
Mayweather Jr. Blames Pacquiao's 'Punk Ass'
1/7/2010 12:45 PM PST
Floyd Mayweather Jr. is not only blaming Manny Pacquiao for backing out of their big fight -- now the Pretty Boy has resorted to name-calling ... threatening to whip Manny's "punk ass."
Floyd claims he's "thoroughly disgusted" that members of Pacquiao's camp are trying to blame Mayweather for standing in the way of the fight.
In a brutal statement, Mayweather states, "First and foremost, not only do I want to fight Manny Pacquiao, I want to whip his punk ass."
Mayweather added, "In my opinion it is Manny Pacquiao and his team who are denying the people a chance to see the biggest fight ever. I know the people will see through their smokescreens and lies. I am ready to fight and sign the contract. Manny needs to stop making his excuses, step up and fight."

Mayweather won't rush into fight
Updated: July 18, 2010, 8:12 PM ET
MIAMI -- Floyd Mayweather Jr. allowed a deadline for striking a deal on a superfight with Manny Pacquiao to pass without saying anything.
A day later, Mayweather indicated that his stance wouldn't be changing anytime soon.
"I'm not really thinking about boxing right now," Mayweather said. "I'm just relaxing. I fought about 60 days ago, so I'm just enjoying myself, enjoying life, enjoying my family and enjoying my vacation."
A shot Margarito would not have lasted 12 rounds. Stylistically, he was picture perfect for Pacquiao. Nothing to do with being shot.
Was Ali not shot when he faced Holmes for 10 rounds before the fight was called?
Was Ali not shot when he went the distance with Berbick?
A shot fighter with a granite chin can go the distance with anybody as long as the corner or ref doesn't stop the fight. And the fact remains, this fight should have been stopped by the referee.
Your basing Margarito being shot because he got Koed by Mosley. That could have been just a bad night, he came in @ 145 and was drained and distracted from all that happened. He beat Garcia after a long lay off and looked sub par but it was expected from a man with ring rust. You are assuming he is shot. To say that Margarito is not even a contender shows your ignorance is fueled by your agenda.
And you have yet to defend your stance as to what you have seen over the last 2 years that suggest Margarito is a world class top contender, please do so, don't just say I have an agenda. I can show you film from every fight post Cotto that suggests he is SHOT. Can you show me something showing he is not?

I have no agenda, and I am not basing it solely on the Mosley knockout, but just the direction his career has gone. He doesn't have it anymore. He get's hit way too much, and he is slow as dirt.
He was not weight drained against Mosley, he was just demolished by a better boxing, faster, harder hitting fighter. He looked "sub par" you say? And I'm the one with the agenda? He looked like crap.
Why is it that everybody said this fight was a joke? How did I predict after it was announced that he would lose every round? (I believed he would be tko'd late, but it was never called) Why was he the underdog? Why did Roach himself say Tony was shot? ("I've seen your last two fights.")
And you claim that I have an agenda when it is common knowledge in the boxing world that Margarito is damaged goods and does not have a single good win left in his career. He is SHOT and that is a fact.
"ring rust."
Margarito has permanent ring rust that will never wipe off.
