That is verrrrrrry shocking tbh.
I mean both Pac and Marg have a huge following in Texas. It doesn't make sense. Hell they even had (rofl) nelly perform.
I knew something was up when none of the announcer even mentioned once how many people were in the stands.
Maybe it has to do with the Cowboys losing season. Manny has more wins in Dallas Stadium this year than the team itself.
Maybe the fight only did like 700k ppv who knows.
Props to Pac for actually going toe to toe with Marg.

Didn't Jerry Jones purchase a crap load of tickets for the Clottey fight? I recall reading that somewhere.
floyd is the cash cow. when are you guys going to go it. more people want to see floyd fight, period.
stop the excuses. yall claimed 70k and 1.3mil. i beat this fight didnt even break 900k.
floyd owns again. people rather see floyd than the exciting pacroidHave you ever spanked off to a picture of floyd before???
To be honest, Jerry Jones screwed a lot of people by jacking up the ticket prices. Instead of the original $50 dollar tickets, he decided to make it $100. THe party tickets that goes for $35 dollars were also dismissed. It also had to do with Cowboys not selling so Jones had to make up for his loss. but either way the stadium was jamm packed!! It was one hella of a nite. Big ups to the 4 brothers. Good times.
It is a disappointment, I think it's a mix of:
- Big College football games taking place at the same time (not sure if they were in Dallas though)
- Cowboys season disaster/coaching change took away a lot of local media attention
- Margarito is not as popular as expected post scandal with the Mexican crowd. He had a decent crowd there to cheer him on but I saw many Mexicans booing him and cheering Manny.
- Most of all it did less because they didn't give away tickets or lowered the price like they did with the Clottey fight.
Jerry Jones is probably happy to have 40k buying his overpriced beer etc. I must have spent nearly $60 on beer alone.
40k is a disappointment, I expected at least 50k +, but when you put it into context it's is still one of the best attended fights in the US from the past 20-30 years.
The crowd itself was very loud and rowdy, had Margarito been competitive it would have blown the roof off, but with him getting his but kicked it silenced the Mexicans who easily outnumbered the Pinoys.
He got a rebuffing of his current bling bling grill and another 15 minutes.
Nah, I really don't know...

Jerry jones is going to f*uck somone up lmfao. bobby must be shacking in his boots. 42k is a very good number, but not at cowboys stadium and when you expect 70k.
BTW, does anyone if nelly got paid for his performance?

Not much to do in Dallas and it was known cause the last fight that the dome wasn't a good place to watch a boxing match. Clottey/Pac didn't do it any favors either
A bunch of terrible excuses being made in this thread. Just admit that this wasn't that hot of a ticket and keep it moving. 42k (if that is a legit number) is nothing to be ashamed of.

Yea I was surprised by that to. Maybe the clottey #'s were exaggerated? Who knows but definitely weird especially after they were saying the buys had beat expectations and would break the record of 60k +. Wondering what the ppv buys are.
The Pac/Clottey #s were grossly exaggerated. From the post fight tax records of the Texas Boxing Regulation, the numbers of bought tickets was a bit over 36,000 and then they gave away another 5,000.
It was the same as this fight all up, but the tickets bought was only 36K. Fact. It has been widely reported already that those numbers were only put out by Arum and HBO and were incorrect.
I thought everyone knew this already.
I'm sure the Clottey fight being the first boxing match at Cowboy Stadium helped those numbers. Had Pacquiao/Margarito been the first one it probably would have done the same. 42K is nothing to scoff at.
yeah agreed,
9K thought the Pac/Clottey fight was boring and didn't want to waste their money again? They certainly wouldn't have wasted it this time, but how would they have known that. Pacquiao/Margarito sounded a lot worse than it was.

todays game was away.
I stand corrected. Nonetheless, the season itself is still in play. Cowboys would rather watch their team most likely lose than watch an expensive ass fight or have really cheap seats.
