"My opponent looked bad," said Pacquiao, who earned $15 million plus pay-per-view profits that should take him well over $20 million. "I wanted the referee to stop it. In the 12th round I was just looking to get thru the fight. I eased up on him. I told the referee, 'Look at his eyes.' I didn't want to damage him permanently. That's not what boxing is about."

You could tell when Pacquiao basically stopped and turned to the ref asking him to stop. Margarito took a beating that might make him to never step foot in the ring again.
It's good of Pacquiao to do that but it angers me when a fighter has to do what Pacquiao did as the rivalling corner or referee should stop the fight.
I agree. It's either knock him out, or stop the fight. I wouldn't be surprised if Marg had brain damage after that fight. I can't imagine getting punched in the head that many times.
I think he had more respect for Margarito who actually hit him back unlike Cotto. :lol1: :p
Lol Cotto landed on Pacquiao too. Maybe more than Margarito if i'm not mistaken.
**** off manny...you beat up Cotto pretty badly without mercy, you should've KOd Margarito he deserved it. hahaha

I thought he very obviously laid off Margarito from the 11th round. It was the noble thing to do - the fight was won and Margarito looked like a mess. His corner should have done better.

He did beat Margarito up too, bad, but he could've basically sent him to canvas if he wanted to.
