And some would sweat 2 plds in a workout you assume alot of things , we took Wif Gentzen to Glasgow to defend his Empire title against Gary Jacobs in the mid 80s and Wilf would really retain fluids we had to monitor his salt levels over the last 7 days to get is body to release it we never had these issues at 140 but at 147 , sodium is an old time durietic they got much better stuff today ,,, fighters are all different in the way they hold fluid and weight ,,, based on all the evidence and looking at Margo I feel he will have weight issues , I doubt he will be over 158-160 when he should be 165 170 on the night ,,, time will tell .

I know personally an MMA fighter (not a boxer but still to do with rehydration who loses about 6kg (13 pounds) to make weight and he is pretty ripped (look up andre winner). I didn't mean 10% across the board always works, I am just saying that is the norm. I know your body holds onto water, but you can force water out of it. It isn't healthy to do if you don't know what you are doing, but it can be done safely. I don't know how people calculate that Pac has an advantage when Margarito is going to be near enough 20 pounds more than Pac.

VACANT championship bouts shouldn't be decided like this..... I think that the catchweights issue is BS. Like we don't have enough divisions already....
The sanctioning bodies should put a stop to the "catchweights". If you wanna come in at 148 thats cool but the limit is 154. No if ands or but's about it. If you feel it would be a disadvantage to have your opponent come in at 154 then stay your a$$ down at 147.
All championship bouts are 12 rounds, and every "body" makes their own rules... so why can't they add this to the list. People are taking advantage in boxing currently because no one back in the days thought of this trickery...

Instantly after the weight in, fighters take rehydration formulas which are specially formulated to speed up rehydration (a drink with the right concentrations of carbohydrates and salt can also do this). This way fighters can replenish weight properly and healthily at a rate of about 1 litre (1lb) per hour.

Jones, Byrd, and DLH all made weight initially. Didn't stop them from being weight drained. Actually DLH came in one pound less than Pacquiao at the weigh in.

Mental disadvantage to Margarito. To be quite frank, I think the catchweight is pointless. Real boxing fans know that 4 pounds makes **** all difference with 30 hours almost to rehydrate.
