Hello all. Its been a while. Hope everyone is doing well. Just thought I'd drop a lil tidbit after reading this. Its been discussed and debated often and usually leads to posts accussing racism. Hopefully, that will end.
BTW, Pac wins easy tomorrow. Most of my boys have been asking about the fight. I said I wasn't going to order it but it looks like all my people want to see it. Fihgt should do 1 mil easy. I'll holla
• If Pacquiao wins and a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. still can't be made, whom will he fight?
Top Rank promoter Bob Arum outlined three possibilities: Shane Mosley, Juan Manuel Marquez for a third fight or a rematch with Miguel Cotto.
Although Mosley has long been tied to Top Rank enemy Golden Boy, he has been telling people he is a free agent and can deal with whatever promotional company he wants. When asked about that, Arum's response was a terse, "I have no comment."
OK, so how would Arum sell a fight with Mosley, who was routed by Mayweather in May and then looked terrible in a draw with Sergio Mora in September?
"That's something that I'm paid to do," Arum said. "Our market now is not dependent on the boxing fan. People want to see this guy, people want to see him being tested. When was the last time that Pacquiao fought an African-American? When was the last time?"
Pacquiao hasn't faced an African-American fighter.
"Bingo. Bingo," Arum replied.
A number of posters, myself included, have pointed out that Manny hasn't fought a certain type of boxer. When we do we are called racists. fcastro1, augustus, pistol whip, brick wall, all quality posters responded very strongly to me when I posted that top rank didn't match manny against a certain type of fighter. Months later, Bob acknowledges the very same thing that I and others pointed out and points out future marketing benefits from doing so.
Perhaps next time this subject comes up lets have intelligent debate rather than name calling and race baiting.
But in fairness Dunn,to say that Ya'll have said a certain type of boxer isn't really accurate!!When that comparison is brought up,I've heard it more along the lines of Slick,Black American fighters!!It would have served better if ya'll just said slick fighters, for example:Yuri Foreman who was supposedly too big for Pacman, but was also viewed as a slick fighter!!Because team Pacman did avoid him,but the far less greater fighter (Miguel Cotto)went on to take the title from the champ,go figure huh??
Winner of the Alexander/Bradley should be explored.
These guys should be given the chance for the big
fight. Aging Shane Mosley is a waste of effort and
time. Should be crossed out from the list.

And what is that 'certain kind of boxer'??

will you stop your name dropping bull****? you're acting as if there were slick black american fighters out there that pac could've fought especially in the lower weights. there was none period, so there's nothing to debate upon. that's what make it stupid to bring that topic up.
right now, there's only one possible opponent pac could fight that fits the bill...and that is floyd. when floyd is done vacationing you can bring that topic up for debate. until then, shut the fuck up and stick to reality.

What certain type of fighter?

That is particularly hard to do on this site.

I don't want to see any of those fights. If Floyd isn't available, then the only possible fight I would want for Pac is Bradley if he beats the crap out of Alexander and Khan.
All three of those fights, Mosley, Cotto, and JMM, are unacceptable.
That fight, would be a good fight and a legit threat to Pac. But, only at 135, anything higher JMM doesn't have a chance and it would be a BS fight just like Floyd-JMM was. But, we know Pac is not going all the way down to 135.
It might sell, since Pac is draw, maybe not a bigger draw then Floyd but he close. So he really can fight whoever and is going to sell. But, yea that list crap.
I am willing to give Pac a pass for this year, cuz he did have a very strong 08 and 09 run. No matter what the haters say it was a strong run. So I don't mind him fighting a year off and fighting tune-ups. But, if you going to fight tune-ups 2 years in a row is just not going to fly.
Not only his fans. Also the casual boxingfan will bite. Hardcore fans knows it's bs but will pay for it anyway. Arum has been a succesfull promotor for many years for a reason. :(
yeah let's face it - Clottey, Margarito & Mosley = 1 Mayweather, monetarily, anyway.
Arum is just throwing Shanes name out there for there to seem like options
he is going with the most money and that is a rematch with Cotto
at 147 after cotto has been fighting at 154
smart move Bob
I'm sure his fans will swallow that line, hook and sinker.

Pacquiao will look to stop Mosley and that alone is a big selling point. Mosley is delightful especially in the limelight, and further believability will come from Nazim Richardson's involvement.
Mosley should have another win first for credibility.
