Since Lopez is calling out Juan Manuel Marquez, who wins this?
JMM weighed in at 133lbs in his last fight, so let's say he can make 130lbs. without any problems, and Lopez goes to 130lbs.
Come on now.
Juanma has about as much chance as Juan Diaz had. Win a few rounds on power shots, and then proceed to be thoroughly schooled by jmm.
Jmm can very easily time any of juanma's punches and land deadly accurate counters. The disparity in skill alone makes this an easy pick.
Current jmm vs. Juanma lopez @ 130 = Clear ud win for jmm.
Prime JMM vs. Current juanma lopez @126 or 130 = JMM TKO win in the 9th-12th, ref or corner stoppage. I'd give Juanma not even a puncher's chance at beating a prime JMM.

I'll decide after the Katsidis fight.
Katisidis is a big pressure fighter for lightweight, if Marquez does a job on him in convincing fashion then I'd say there was no fighter below 140 who could beat him.
I explained my reasoning earlier. I thought Juanma took Rafa's counterpunching out of the equation later in the fight. Stylistically, he does that, he shuts either one of them down.
I miss your cocaine induced exclamation points. lol
That'll be negative, the only drug I've ever tries is Ganja!!Rafa's smaller man's counterpunching is nothing like Juan's bigger, stronger man's counter punching, true story!!U know the counter punching that gave Pacman hell twice, yeah that 1!!
I thought U were more knowledgeable than this!!:no:U do realize that Diaz,Malignaggi & Floyd are much bigger than Juanma right??

COMPLETE domination by Juanma Lopez. Multiple knockdowns. Marquez will start whining like his brother about something.
I can imagine the post fight interviews allready.
"I want a rematch, he is a dirty fighter". - JMM
You people make Marquez to be way more than he really is. Dominated from corner to corner by Mayweather. Never had a chance. Rocked by Juan "Impregnated by Malignaggi" Diaz. His best fights were against a very different Manny Pacquiao who was not the elite P4P #1 fighter he is today.
Juanma by TKO. Easily.

Powerful forces control JMM, and they will not make this fight happen, probaly after Chris John and Gamboa, but I wanna see this fight happen, nothing more I'd like to see, is Mexican boxing fans broken hearted.
Maybe you see something I don't, because im not sold on him. I agree that he beats Cab, and Chris John, more than likely KO's both. Styles make fights, and I don't see his style matching up with Gamboa. True that gamboa has faced lighter opposition, but I favor his style over JML's and possibly a KO or just a plain ugly fight kind of like vs. Salido. Against Rafa, JML was the stronger dude, where as vs JMM I think JMM has the edge in power, and if smaller Rafa could buzz him I think JMM cleans his clock. But that's my opinion, and I respect yours. Now against Guerrero, I favor the ghost because he also is a lefty has power, and boxing skill. Now I am sincerely speaking on my thoughts about the fights as far as who I favor in styles, not being biased at all.
Me neither. In this respect. I am kind of biased when talking about Abraham. So we agree to disagree.
This has nothing to do with PR. I'm being kind of hard with Rafa because I hated his BS at the end of the fight.
My respects.
POWER + HEART
I couldn't care less that he's from PR.
His power compensates for his shortcomings. Just like in the case of the younger, lighter Pac.
He actually BOXED with Rafa, who is one of the best. As the fight progressed, Juanma was calmer, more relaxed, and more effective. As the fight progressed, Marquez was more and more ineffective.
This was not a brawler vs boxer fight. Juanma chose to go at it and see who had the better technique. He won.
And he's got heart. Guys like Abraham, guys like Calz, guys like Juanma: they just will not quit. And it's not mindless "no quit" like Baldo or Margo, it's balls out no quitting.
He got rattled by Márquez and screamed at his face to bring it on.
POWER + HEART + KILLER INSTINCT
Sorry to put it this way, but the "magic" of the Márquez Brothers is their counterpunching skills. Juanma ended the fight neutralizing most of it.

What makes you so sure, aside from the fact that he's PR? IMO there's a couple of legit threats at those weights. His defense is not good, his chin rattled in 3 of his last 4 fights, to me he beats Cab, he beats Chris John, loses to Yuri, @ 130 loses to Guerrero. Don't count your chicks before they hatch.

No one is beating Juanma @130, 126.
You are ALL witnesses.

I think JML can beat James Kirkland, KO JMM, handle Maidana's punch, and KO Canelo in one round. Please!! @ 130 the ghost Guerrero KO's Juanma
No one is beating Juanma @130, 126.

Just like his brother did. Right?
JMM was rocked by light punching Diaz, floored three times by a non "Top Of The World, Non Plus Ultra" version of Pacquiao - IN ONE ROUND.
This is NOT 2008. Wake up.
Diaz was a bigger man also. He also got knocked the **** out. Pac floored Marquez three times in one round. Alot of people think Juan went on to win that fight. Ended up a draw. Pac has more speed and power then Lopez as well.
Are you kidding Juanma would get embarasses,Marquez would destroy him with counters, watch more boxing kid.

JMM was supposed to get dominated by Mayweather. JMM had way too many disadvantages in that fight, I'm not going to list them. The only advantage for JMM that night was that he had the heart to fight Pacquiao, that's it. Everything else favored Floyd. End of story.
Yes, Diaz rocked JMM in that 2nd round, but he quickly recovered and fought back, like he always does.
I agree that JMM is best known for giving hell to a beta version of Pacquiao. The Pacquiao of 130lbs was still green, and a bit drained in my opinion.
But let's look at the Rafael Marquez vs. Juanma Lopez fight. As chinny as Rafael is, I did not expect him to take Lopez's punches that well. As a matter of fact, we saw Rafael hurt Lopez a few times. There was also the shoulder injury that he claimed he had before the fight.
Lopez went through hell versus a battle worn, older, and smaller Rafael.
Compare Rafael to his brother Juan Manuel Marquez. Marquez is probably just as big or bigger than Lopez at this point. Marquez is not as battle-worn as Rafael, even though he is older, due to his pure boxer style during most of his career, which enabled him to not take as much damage. Older Marquez is also more skilled in the counter punching department that Rafael. I know back then, Rafael was considered the harder puncher P4P than JMM, but it seems JMM is hitting harder as he moved up in weight.
JMM stops Lopez in the late rounds.
I like your analysis, though I don't fully agree with it.
Rafael took Juanma's punches well because Juanma was very aware of the counterpunching abilities of Marquez. He was not moving forward as aggressively as he has done in the past (example, when he literally ran/pushed Concepcion into a knockdown). So his usual pop was not there.
As the fight progressed, Juanma was more comfortable, while Rafael was less effective. Rafael had a good 4th because Juanma had yet to shorten his punches, and was not using the uppercut. Once he, instead of putting his hands on top of Rafa's head every time Marquez lunged forward, started to punch him to the body/uppercut him, it was over. Then he shortened his punches a bit, and effectively neutralized his counterpunching.
JMM is very similar to Rafa Marquez, skill and tactically-wise.
Ring Magazine P4P are flawed and biased. See: Mosley, Chad Dawson, J.M. Marquez, Nonito (even though I am a fan, he is not that high in the P4P, yet), etc.

Sure Pacquiao floored him 4 times, but his heart enabled him to prevent getting KO'd. An A+ level heart with a B level chin is still a deadly combination.
JMM stops Lopez in the late rounds.
