Juanma lopez: ''i want juanma marquez at 130''

"I would love to fight Rafa again, I know he hurt his shoulder and he asked for a rematch and I would like to do it again, he is a tremendous warrior, a very strong puncher, he gave me the most difficult fight of my career. We have a date for next year in Puerto Rico maybe we can do it again there. I want the fight, he wants the fight, let's just tell Beltran and Arum to make everything work and we'll fight," said Lopez to the Mexican media. "If the rematch goes on, then after beating Rafael again, I would love to fight Juanma Marquez, maybe he can come down to 130 pounds and we can get it on. I only want to fight the best and that should be a good story, fighting the Marquez brothers, I really want to fight Juanma at 130." Juan Manuel Lopez is the current WBO featherweight champion and was sitting next to Rafa Marquez when this interview was conducted by TV Azteca, Marquez had an ice bag place above his shoulder, and Marquez also said he would love to get a rematch with the Puerto Rican star.

Juanma will KO both brothers if they dare to really trade with him. As it is, they spend most of the fight looking for the counterpunch. Juanma needs a good trainer. Shorten his punches a little bit, and add an effective uppercut. JMM got rocked by no-punching Juan "My Daddy is a Guido" Diaz. Lopez will make you ALL believers. Lopez is the man. The future arrived. Quit living in 2008. You should take your own advice since you have been complaining about Margs since july 08 son.

Like others have said, 130 may be to low for JMM to go. He's bigger and better than his brother and also packs a hell of a punch with pin point accuracy. If Lopez fills out in a couple years to make 135 comfortably, I can see this fight happening. JMM doesn't have a couple years left.

that fight would be so much fun it's absurd and it's all i was thinking about after that fight (and even during) juanma's got the pow to fight lightweights. i dont know if he's going to be knocking them out cold with one shot but they arent going to just absorb his power why not move up and fight for the lightweight championship if you're going against a guy who was essentially a career featherweight rafael marquez is about as tall and reachy as his brother juan manuel is listed at 5'7" but he's about five four according to ring magazine (and he looked at least three inches shorter than mayweatherr, who's only 5'8") juan has a world class chin and recooperative powers and has the heavier muscles and bones in short they are men of simmilar size juanma is at the height of his powers he can always move down in weight he takes punishment in victory anyway, so it's not like he's afraid of taking a beating it would be a big boy payday (by far the biggest of his career) only problem for juanma and TR.... he'd get picked apart and take an old school asswhipping. bloody, knocked around the ring, oldschool starching floyd mayweather couldnt put a real hurt on juan manuel

Lopez moves up to 135 and gets destroyed, asking for 130 is stupid. Marquez hasn't made that weight in years, I would rather see Lopez fight Gamboa/John/Cab. He's already had enough softballs, time he got in there with the best in his division.

WTF? He should be fighting Gamboa instead of trying to cherry pick against JMM. JMM is at the very end of his career and has a few fights left in him. JMM would make more money fighting Morales early next year at 140 and possibly fighting a fighter at 140. JuanMa should move up to 135 if they wants to fight JMM that bad. ***** **** to make JMM come down to 130.

Not me, only reason I give a **** abou Chirs John, is because he beaten Marquez. I don't understand your response. Not me, as in you don't care much for a Gamboa vs Lopez fight? If not why wouldn't you? This is exactly the kind of fight that promises fanservice, and lots of fireworks. Plus shut some of the haters declaring Lopez a ducker.

I seriously doubt JMM would take up a challange at 130. It would be a diffrent matter if Lopez would be willing to step up to 135. But why would JMM take up the fight to begin with? At least we have a strong possible fight in the summer with Gamboa. And really many of us here, would rather see him fight Gamboa then the Marquez brothers. very true..
