This dude has so much heart you cant put it into words.
Any1 see when he got hurt he started banging his gloves together yelling at Rafa?
This guy got hurt and his first reaction wasnt to hold, wasnt to pull back, wasnt to go into a defense shell, it was to bang it out with Rafa and god dammit i love that.
Im a juanma fan for life, this is what boxing needs. I hope Arum brings him back to New York so i can attend my 3rd Juanma fight.
I dont care if hes vulnerable, hes still undefeated, he has to much heart to lose.
Screw Gamboa, this guy comes to fight, YOUR GETTING YOUR MONEYS WORTH when you watch Juanma.
VIVAAAA PUERTOOO RICOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tell that to Jrosales13. He seems to think Rafa is still a prime fighter.
I was considering doing a show about this last night but I was too damn depressed about Rafa going out like that to carry on.
Why are you lying bro?
Show a link or a quote from me where I said Rafa is prime.
Even in the debate we had I said multiple times that Rafa is not prime, he is past prime. And, that he is prime was at 118. So what are you talking about? Do you not know how to read?
Now, I do believe that Rafa was not shot going into that fight, being shot, prime, and past prime are totally different thing you twat. I also said that Rafa is very small for that weight-class. You have no reading comprehension.
What do you mean by your first written line?
But Yeah if he keeps throwing punches like he's crazy I would Favor Gamboa too.
Nothing, it's just that being Puerto Rican I'm surprised you haven't opted to say, "The banging of the gloves was awesome!" and whatnot.
I'm tempted to say it was bad-ass, but I didn't like that when I was watching the fight live. I recorded the living room reaction when Juanma got clipped in the fourth, but no way in hell am I uploading this here. I stood up and started shouting, "¡Aguántate!"
It's amazing how crazy people become when they're watching a fight that they're emotionally invested in.
I remember telling you on your past show Jack to rewatch vazquez vs Marquez 4, cut the volumn down, and pay attention to long it takes Rafa to get his hands back into defensive position. While Rafa dominated that fight....there were times Israel couldn't miss due to rafa's poor reflexes...which is why I stated that this was a disgraceful bout put together by Top Rank.
Rafa only survived as long as he did due to his experience, and boxing IQ.
Yeah, Top Rank really stooped pretty low. Anything to prolong a Caballero fight though.
The cool thing about it was how badass Rafa went out in there. He held his own and almost dropped Lopez before Weeks stepped in to give him extra recovery time.
Tell that to Jrosales13. He seems to think Rafa is still a prime fighter.

Surprised to see you saying that, NAPO (being Puerto Rican and all).
I enjoyed the banging of the gloves, but I was more worried than pumped to be honest. He was willing to exchange and swing wildly WHILE HURT.
I have no shame in admitting that Gamboa, with the precision and quickness that he has, López could've been caught trading and would've gone down hard (had it been Gamboa in Márquez's place).
Both have dentable chins, but Gamboa's viper-like when he commits to his punches. It's Gamboa's speed that makes a difference, guy's punches are like a rapier thrusts. Quick and sharp with KTFO written all over them. López's punches are more like baseball bats...
They're nice, but Gamboa edges him in my opinion...
I agree, but Lopez vs Gamboa would be very interesting because it isn't the same fighting a bigger stronger guy and Lopez is just that compare to Gamboa and Gamboa has shown he's veeeeery vulnerable as well. When they fight if it goes the distance I give the edge to Lopez he just has to survive the early Gamboa storm.
Jack you already know what's up. I remember me and you talked about this on the radio show months before this fight happened, and I was telling you that in no way, shape or form did Rafa belong at 126.
Just like his brother Juan was a FW overachieving at LW....Rafa was a BW overachieving at Superbantamweight.
I wasn't impressed one bit by Juanma performance...and I'm usually the first to take up for him. Rafa was not only past it, but brought up to a weight class he clearly didn't belong. Of course Juanma's gonna act cocky and bang his gloves together given the circumstances of the opponent in front of him.

He probably had so much heart because he knew after being in the ring with Rafa for a couple rounds that he was too small and he could take most of his punches.
You need to settle down. And ask yourself why he's been ducking Caba for all these years.

Tell em to stop fighting Ivan Choco Hernandez, Yuri Foreman, Michael Jennings, and a shot Rafael Marquez and claiming they are the best and maybe I will.
Clottey, Mosley, Pacquiao, Margarito, Maliggnagi, Quintana, De Leon, Marquez ect..............
Surprised to see you saying that, NAPO (being Puerto Rican and all).

If he bring his Boxing and defensive skills back then he would be unstoppable. But what he really is doing is just shortening his career with that cocky attitude.

He's fallen in love with his power like Tito did before him. Tito used to be a much better boxer earlier in his career.
that was my biggest fear after the de leon fight. i knew it would happen and because of it a loss to gamboa nor cab would surprise me really.
He's fallen in love with his power like Tito did before him. Tito used to be a much better boxer earlier in his career.
Very true, and I see that as well. I agree...
He hit a chinny Marquez multiple times and hit Penalosa 500 times plus and couldn't even drop him. And couldn't do shiit to Mtagwa.
He got lucky against PDL.
His power is overrated.
And he looks like Curious George.
And I always hated Curious George as a kid.
:)
You hate curios George :nonono: You should be ashamed.
Was Ponce De Leon old small and washed up?
He just wasn't very good and very green. Decent win for Lopez.
Juanma did look bigger but he just moved up from 118 a few fights ago too so he they both are about the same size, but i believe that a 26 yrs old rafa would probably beat a 26 yrs old Juanma
Juanma was not at 118 a few fights ago.
I like Juanma cuz I see a little Tito in him. Even though if somebody in Tito weight did what Caba did in going to his home land and throw every insult in the book at him, Tito would have fought him by now.
But, still Lopez doesn't have the dynamic punching power in both hands that Tito did, but he still hits very hard, is vulnerable, gets knockdown early, seems to get hurt more than Tito, but has the charisma that Tito and has exciting fights like Tito did.
Say what you want about Lopez, but he has heart, he doesn't give up or quit, he has intangibles that I like in a fighter, he has proved that he can survive very rough tough situations when things are not going his way.
He does have a little bit of Tito in him and that is why I like him.
He won't even get to Caballero. He will pull a Floyd.
Arum's matchmakers stay miles from Caballero.
They think it's safer to fight bantamweights and Mtagwas.
we'll see.
arum got juanma the big name win already.
when a young fighter finally gets the big name win , they can risk him now.
no matter what happens , he still has that big name win and name recognition so he can still be a name and money even after a loss.
gamboa is behind so they might not do gamboa-lopez yet and wait 'til gamboa has a few more solid wins.
Caballero beat DeLeon's ass almost 6 years ago.
When PDL was undefeated and a killer.
JuanMa got the shiittier version.
Juanma destroyed him in 1 Cab got a ud over 12. Juanma showed power that a guy like Cab could only dream he had.
