when im sparring everytime i throw my jab (orthodox stance) and i miss my arm hurts real bad man. like a sharp pain running up and down my forearm. today i did that then i had to switch to south paw to releive the pain and all i pretty much could do was throw the right jab. i ended up throwing a backwards hammer fist punch lmao....man im turning into brock lesnar here
and yes i got gassed and my ass beat. im 0-3 in sparring for crying out loud :(
so many replies. this guy is playing with ya'll. sparring with brother, you can hurt each other.. the way you train excually.. going for pro and counting sparring rounds\??
just go to the gym, and quit this whining that your hand hurts, or you cant pee properly etc etc. trainings like these (athome) won' t teach you anything. besides that you waste most of your time on the forum, shows how much of the willing you have to train and what personality you are.
If you are only sparring your brother in the basement you shouldn't take it so seriously, I can understand concern about your skills if you show some actual care and go to a gym.
Anyway if your arm is hurting after throwing a jab, it is possible that you have torn or pulled a muscle. It's not normal that it hurts so much you have to switch southpaw unless you are a pansy and mistaking fatigue for severe pain.
LOL it was in the 1st round and i know what fatigue is. I have to hold my arm after i fight becoz it hurts.
I will become the super middle weight champion of the world one day

maybe you should consider "retirement" before seriously hurt yourself.
thats not what a true native american warrior with 1/4 mexican blood does
:boxing:
i have no trainer. im training myself. the closest thing to a trainer is my brother (sparring partner) lmao
but i think i am throwing it wrong cuz as soon as i throw it , it hurts real bad. im not the best technical boxer either.....lol

Hey brother...FYI...JEALOUS...not JELOUS. LOL...
haha i know i just like spelling it wrong....lots of ppl point it out to me haha
maybe your hyper-extending our arm when you throw the jab?
yea i think i am. i told my brother how im throwing it and he's like wtf?
when i throw i dont snap my arm back and just throw right through lol
Looks like somebody already brought that up. Yeah watch how your twisting that arm when you punch. Also pay attention to the "snap" at the end of the jab. That could be the cause.
Maybe you are twisting your arm too much putting strain on the nerves in your elbow. Do some HIIT to improve your cardiac threshold. Hit a heavy bag as fast as you can for 30 seconds, take 30 seconds off, then resume. Do this for at least 15 to 20 minutes and you will gain in your cardio over a short period of a week or 2
Do you warm up before going into these sessions? Like stretching and all that?
yea i make sure to stretch :)
Then I would seriously get my arm checked out :) Probably just pulled something :boxing:
yea most likely. my bro said it looks like i throw my punches all wrong. geez you guys would laugh if u guys seen vid of us hahhaha
most likely. i dont hit with all my force coz its my brother and i dont wanna hurt him. just wana out point him.

When your just begining all your body is gonna hurt, it just happens, with more boxing and hitting stuff you'll get used to it. When I first started boxing a couple months ago, I had to take off every other day because my knuckles hurt that bad.
Now im used to it. My shoulders are fine, everything :).
I bet your not keeping a tight grip or have hands wraped wrong and when you hit, it sends your wrist turning wrong and hitting a nerve.

im not that fast, im not that technical, i dont have a chin to save my ass but one good thing i have is i have heart lol....
id be too emberassed to show video of me sparring on the internet hahaha. man id look like ****. i try using the philly shell but i keep getting punched in the gut haha. i hate that.
Well that shouldn't be hurting like that. I haven't seen you box, so it's hard to say. From what you've said, I'm guessing your technique is all wrong. Tell your trainer about it. If he knows what he's doing, then he will fix it. Practice your foot work, how you throw the punches and over all technique.
