I disagree, Kessler was not the same in the Ward, Froch and Perdomo fight imho. He was a perfect boxer, in the sense that he was a 1-2 powerpuncher, with one of the most accurate jabs. In his recent fights he was relentless, inaccurate and seemed more like a brawler than a boxer.
I'm not taking anything away from Ward, because it was a great win. But it shouldn't be compared to when Calzaghe took away Kessler's 0.
Kessler was the same fighter that fought Cal, the difference was that Ward was quicker, had better Defs an relfexes then Cal did, so thats y Kessler looked bad, Ward was getting off punches b4 Kessler could, Like i said b4 Cal is predictable you know wat he is going to do, he gonna pitty pat you to death, Ward isnt, Ward is more agile and he picks his spots, where Cal just flurries little punches to score here an there the whole fight.
I'm under the understanding that the old version of Hopkins is a much better fighter than the younger, and I believe that Hopkins had one of his best nights, that night. It was a fight between two of the best fighters of this era. Hopkins used every trick in the book and got away with it, but Calzaghe's will became the determined factor.
To answer your question:
Eubank
Reid
Veit
Kessler
Lacy
Roy Jones Jr. (3 years age difference between the two, but I agree that Roy was way past his best days.)
And everyone who makes 21 titledefences sound like nothing is a boxing newcomer, hater or a retard.
Im not taking nothin away from Joe but his resume is not HOF worthy at all! His record is, but not wats on his resume. Kessler is the only 1 i really would consider a challenge in his carreer, I think if he woulda fought Froch, Taylor (b4 Froch) an Arthur A an won id have a different opinion about him.
We need to see more from Ward.
But one of Calzaghe's biggest wins ever was against Mikkel Kessler. And in Ward's young career he already has a win over that exact same Kessler....

And who has Cal beat that is not 40+ an well past there prime! Kessler, annnnd ??????? dont worry ill w8! Jeff Lacey was soooooooo overrated i knew he would get his ass beat so plz dont say that. N Chad Dawson isnt a hype job, he looked bad n the pascal fight but even still Pascal was bout to get KO'd. Agree with you on Jeff an Pavlik tho.

Any punch that touches Jones Jr chin hurts. Ask him.... Joe has a good work rate... I still find it funny people think he has heavy hands. IMHO he beats Ward.
are you implying the air slaps calzaghe missed is a pounding? oh and is ward gonna be a 43 year old man when they fight?
Calzaghe is a strong dude. The air slaps that connected hurt. Ask Roy. He hasn't forgot.
Joe Calzaghe is way too proud to get beaten by Ward. Pride, coupled with a iron chin a crazy style and heavy hands makes him blaze the fool after he headbutts him one time too many.
Just ask B-Hop who had to roll around faking to get some air because he was taking a pounding. Joe is a tough customer and those 'slaps' seem to eventually get every opponents. respect for some reason....
