I'm pretty sure he's only moving up to get his name in the history books. Once he officially obtains the title, I'm sure he'll go back down where he belongs.
This fight should have taken place at 147. This fight is a farce as far as being a world title fight but it will still be a great fight.

According to Cheato's weigh in on the 24/7 episode he was 158. He still has to drop 8lbs in 2 weeks.
lmfao your an idiot did you not here robert garcia said were right on track still (4 weeks till the fight were right on track) they film those 24/7 episodes a week in advance from when they air. and the catchweight is 151 so in all sense he has to drop 7 pounds in 4 weeks.. and im sure as of now hes somewhat 155-154 with 2 weeks left hes fine
yes but dont be a idiot you dumb**** they were going up in weight actually and advantage to them not to him although he didt make weight for the marquez fight its much worse to drain a fighter than to let one go up
Retard. JMM and Hatton are the smaller fighter. HOW the hell did you thought it was their advantage fighting Floyd at welterweight? How I wish Floyd really fought them at the middle to level the playing field but he was such a puss to give any of his advantages. At least Pac fougt Hatton at his best weight 140 moved down after he fought Oscar at 147. You are so against of this weight draining but Why you
nowhere to be found saying Hatton was a moron by weight draining Pac at 140 instead of fighting him at 147? Asking someone to move up or move down in your best weight is far more worst than someone moving up in weight fighting bigger fighters where both fighter agreed to meet the at middle is more honorable to do.
I don't like the idea of Pac fighting at jr. middleweight at all, he reach his limit at 147. Don't like the idea of a catchweight for a title also but Arum wanted it and WBC's presdient Sulaiman sanctioned it.
Pac should go back down to 147 after the Margarito fight if he wins.If he doesn't, hopefully there is no more catchweight and just face an easy opponent in Bundrage, Powell, or Rhodes.
An entirely new division, huh? That Manny's got juice (no pun intended).
You guys should worry about what your idol Floyd would do next
instead of focusing on a fighter you clearly dislike. No one is
forcing you to see Pacman's fights. Watch Avatar for the nth time if
you want just like me. I'm a big fan of Pandora-like scenes in a
movie. At least that's straight-up fantasy, not the ones fans
talk about here.
And look at me, I look forward to seeing Khan beat the crap out of
Madonna.
The fact that Pacman still finds time to fight is a big bonus for me.
He's an exciting fighter.
... and, perhaps, lure Floyd up to 154 or will he abandon the division and return to 147 or possibly retire? What say you?
if he does stay, it wont be at 154lbs. It'll be at 150lbs.
I think boxing is going to have to institute some type of rule that states you have to defend a title at least 1 time before you can vacate it.
This shid is just too crazy manny catchuiao is making a mockery of the catchweight and abuse the rules of boxing just to add to his so called "legacy''
He should be discredited some what when he gets IBHOF consideration
Well I know some Pac fans weren't too thrilled at the announcement of a Margo fight at a catchweight. But it is what it is. There might even be a rematch if the fight doesn't disappoint.

See the thing is homey, who the hell is Pacman challenging for a title though??
In-house fighter who's last two fights Freddie insinuated were proof of a non-threating opponent.
I'm saying Margo should not win this one cause challenging for a title while forcing all kinds of stipulations on his opponent to then end up losing, is not gonna look good for Pac at all.

Mindbat my bwoy, what fuel to what controversy??Floyd beat a 154lb champ while weighing in at 149 while the champ weight in at 154!!This Pacman catchweight is exactly 3 measley pounds over welterweight and 4 whole pounds less than 154!!Not to mention it isn't against a 154lb champion,it's against a cheater that got a miracle from father Bob!!

I can't say that they are having regrets for this current fight. Someone asked them if they planned on continuing at 154. Just before training the answer was yes and that Margo was hopefully a stepping stone. Not too long ago the response was different. They are seeing that it's harder work to train for 154 and consequently, to fight at 154.
I still think they will gauge AFTER the fight with Margo. Just like they did with Oscar and Cotto. Once they beat those 2 they felt more comfortable fighting at 147 against Clottey.
If one is objective about it, it makes sense.
Ok. Testing the waters at the higher weight. Got it.
It seems more like Manny, or rather his advisors, are trying to prove that if Floyd can do it at 154 and capture a title, so can he. It merely adds more fuel to the controversy.

So you're saying mid-way into training camp they were having regrets about picking a fight at 150? That's only 3 lbs. north of 147. Why would that be cause for concern?
