I'll tell you why. It's cause he and Margarito don't deserve to fight for the title.
His opponent (Margarito) is not championship material and is only ranked as the #1 contender because the WBC is biased towards Mexicans. No other organization even has Margarito within the top 10. So what if he beat Roberto Garcia. Who's Garcia anyways?
And what has Pacquiao ever done in the light middleweight division? Nothing.
The winner of this fight basically wins a belt strap. Not a championship.
Styles make fights. Mosley's speed and timing was just too much for him. That's why he was handpicked for Pacquiao. Margarito had a terrible camp for the Mosley fight so that is why his desperate trainer loaded the gloves. Unless you can prove otherwise of course.
It had a lot less to do with a faded Mosley being such an amazing fighter than it had to do with Margarito being powerless without his bricks.
So they made the weight and were ready to fight, but they decided that they needed to add a couple of bricks to his hand wraps to make the fight competitive? Wow, real championship material..
Hilarious and ironic how you tell me to "prove otherwise". Can you prove that Margarito didn't use plaster? No, you can't. I can prove that he was caught trying to use it, though. So take a guess as to which argument looks better.

Big guy,ur new here, some advice, watch what U post about Pacman, his legions are strong & their not shy about dishing bad karma!!The truth is whether U or I or anyone that thinks with a clear head knows that this fight for a title is a disgrace to any top 154lb fighters!!But there is nothing that can be done,or changed until he retires!!I can't wait for him & Floyd to be gone from boxing for good!!
Oh yeah, he's totally innocent. After all, why would he wanna use plaster against a prime, undefeated Cotto when he could use it against an over the hill and aging Mosley?
Mosley was clearly a faded fighter. Before the Margarito fight he struggled with Mayorga (and was arguably behind on the scorecards) before the stoppage. After the Margarito fight he was dominated by Mayweather and was arguably beaten by Sergio Mora. SERGIO MORA. All these fighters managed to compete with Mosley yet Margarito was used as a punching bag. :lol1:
I would give Mayweather the same amount of criticism that I'm giving Pacquiao.

So you're assuming that Margarito had illegal wraps in past fights, which is speculation at best. Losing to future hall of famer Shane Mosley doesn't make you a tomato. I bet if Floyd were fighting Margarito, you'd think it was f*cking awesome.

Margarito with bricks in his wraps may have been championship material, but without them he's a tomato and nothing more, as we all saw in the Mosley fight.

Margarito was the champion when he fought Shane Mosley. That alone proves that he was championship material.
On an unrelated note, has anyone else noticed as November 13 approaches the Flomos are getting angrier every day?

Margarito was exposed as a tomato can against Mosley. Or did taking a vicious beating from an over the hill fighter prove he was championship material? :blackeye:
Martinez wasn't ranked by the WBC when he fought Pavlik. It was an optional defense for Pavlik so he could've fought whoever he wanted and he chose Martinez.
You do realize the reigning champion is allowed to fight someone outside of their division, right? :ugh:

He should have fought K9 then he could legitimately win a paper title against a defending champion.
He would've received criticism, if he fought Bundrage, yes, but in the end:
beating a reigning champion who won the title fairly > beating a tomato can for a title neither of them deserve to fight for.
De la Hoya was not the current champ he was a titlist which is the same thing pac will be if he wins. And what exactly the diffrence you act like there are a bunch of more qualified fighters in the top 10 wankings of the WBC well lest see who? Mosely is #5 but then again we would have every Flomo talking about how Pac only fights guys coming off a loss. Canelo is #2 yeah he's still a prospect. Angulo? That would be nice but hes no better than Margarito and hes smaller than Margarito. Oh I know Ryan roads whos ranked 4th yeah untested brit LOL!!
Laughable!
De La Hoya wasn't the champ.. even though he beat the reigning champ before him? And that champ beat the champ before him, and so on? Well, then, your idea of a world champion is messed up.
Pac shouldn't be fighting for it, because it's a VACANT title. In order to fight for a vacant title, it has to be between the #1 and #2 contenders. Pac isn't anyone of those and Margarito shouldn't be. Unless beating Roberto Garcia was some amazing accomplishment?
Bums arn't 3 time welterweights champs! Bums don't win Ring title belts! Seriously guy did you just start watching boxing yesterday? Champion Boxers who move up in weight get ranked almost all the time even if they hadn't ever fought in their division. It's called a body of work my friend. **** Sergio Martinez lost a bout with paul Williams at middleweightand then got a title shot against Kelly Pavlik so why are you up in arms about that???

actually there are even rules to this. A good example if you go back and recall when Joan Guzman was a champ at 130 then moved up to 135 he became Nate Campbell's #1 challenger without even fighting in the division.
Of course, the difference here obviously is margarito isn't a champ either, but to prove the point that pacquiao at least could be legitimately ranked...
let them fight for a belt against a belt holder then. thing is the legit contenders that actually fight at that weight are being cheated out of an opportunity to fight for that belt.
Unclaimed 154lb belt at a catch-weight...gimme a break. Floyd fought the De La Hoya, whom was a legitimate 154pounder defending the title at the limit.
Pacman is just cheating history, eight titles my left nut.
Floyd won it fair and square because he beat the current champ at the time, which was De La Hoya.
If it was a vacant title and he fought for it against a tomato can, then you can criticize him.

So if two bums fought for a vacant world title, that automatically makes the winner a true world champion? I don't think so. And the same goes with this fight.

of course, its a wbc belt....your comparison is crap.....like natas said, leonard won 2 titles at catchweight fight, was that better?...
Actually, my comparison is really good. Titles themselves don't have any meaning at all. WBC, WBA, IBF, whatever. The only thing that matters about a title is who you beat to get it. Pac and Margarito have no business fighting for a title in that division, but they could at least fight a current title holder to get one.
Catchweights also suck.
It's the same fuking belt Floyd won at 154 and he wasn't ranked in the top 10 either just to remind everyone. Im not saying this is the legitimate 154 championship because it fuking isn't but when you are the #1 fuking fighter in the world according to every major news source in the world is it really that hard to phathom being ranked number 1 by one organization or another even if you move up in weight?
Seriously guys I know the PFP rankings are not official but you would atleast think they would count for something. I never thought that I would see the day that fans would complain because the highest ranked fighter in the world doesn't have to enter a new division and start with b- fighters so he can move up the rankings.

You honestly think that title means something? If I wrote, "Super Champion," on a piece of paper and handed it to the winner of a local club fighter after a victory, would that mean anything? A lot of guys have claims to X number of titles, but it doesn't mean **** anymore. It only had meaning when there was one title per division.
of course, its a wbc belt....your comparison is crap.....like natas said, leonard won 2 titles at catchweight fight, was that better?...
nothing to you but it will still make pac the only 8 div champion and ther's nothing you can do about it......he's got a tough fight ahead of him tho!
