Cant post the but its on fight news
After destroying his last opponent, former title challenger Daniel Attah inside of two rounds back in July, WBC #1 ranked lightweight Antonio DeMarco (24-2-1, 18KOs) is more than willing and able to get back in the ring and prove why he deserves another shot at the title. With his next date set for November 6th on the under card of Juan Manuel Lopez vs. Rafael Marquez in Las Vegas, NV, the former interim WBC lightweight champ is hard at work in the gym waiting for the call when he will learn who his next rival will be.
“After my last bout, as usual I went back to Los Mochis and spent some time with my family,” DeMarco, who hails from the Mexican boxing hotbed but resides in Tijuana, said. “I have been training for about two months and I feel stronger and quicker than before.”
DeMarco, who in his win over Attah climbed back up to the top of the rankings, is waiting patiently for his gym mate WBC lightweight belt holder Humberto “Zorrita” Soto to defend his title against Urbano Antillon on December 4th. Once that defense is out of the way, the rumor is that Soto will vacate the title and move up to jr. welterweight, leaving DeMarco with a straight shot at the title.
“My goal right now is to get another shot at the title,” the affable DeMarco stated after a hard sparring session with WBO Youth lightweight champion Mercito Gesta. “I got to challenge once already but the night did not turn out in my favor and I am anxious to redeem myself in the eyes of my family, my team, my fans and the rest of the boxing world
WAR DEMARCO
It was more of 'he wasn't even in the fight so they stopped it. He was never really that hurt.
Not really man, he never ran or anything. Never even attempted to get out the ropes. Just that he froze.
It was his most important fight to date so it wasn't like he didn't try to win. Everything he tried backfired and he got clobbered for his troubles. DeMarco looked like he was going to pass out after the 7th round. Even if you have a good chin you can still be stopped by accumulation of punishment like what Mosley did to Margarito. If it was Malignaggi hitting him he would have steamrolled him and not looked so confused in there.
This is great news, I seen Tony fight on his first card on Showtime, and automatically followed his fights, he's one of my favs good to hear he's coming back strong
Dales duro Tony!
Valero just made him look bad because against anyone else and he would have come up on top that night. He took incredible amounts of punishment and didn't get KTFO. I'm glad their corner pulled him out because a KO was near to happening in the next couple of rounds.
DeMarco will have a good chance of winning against anyone else at 135lbs. In fact, he's probably the strongest 135lber now that Valero is gone. He has the chin, power, size and southpaw advantage over most at 135.

He fought like he was scared to death of Valero in that fight. I expected at least something different

Valero was so open man, but as you said...it happens. Just that I know DeMarco is ALOT better then that.

it happens. Doesn't mean he isn't any less of the fighter we think he is
he faced a guy he had no idea how to deal with in Valero. Had not a single clue nor an alternate plan and simply froze
still a pretty damn good fight IMO.

I was really liking DeMarco, and then he shut down against Valero....

Do yall think the valero death could have affected antonio?
I dont think so unless he forged some friendship with him like if he beat Valero and things unfurled the same way then id say ya it probably did
Good post mate. I wrongly picked him to beat Valero, but I'm still a fan of him despite that loss.
Hopefully he can come back and wreak some havoc in the division.
Said the same thing man i severy underrated Valero at the time.Demarco i feel can come back and do pretty good for himself very good brawler and boxer
He felt Valero's power early and was immediately intimidated. Had he fought more reckless he would have been taken out far earlier in the fight. He was just up against a superior opponent in every department except height/length.
I feel that DeMarco will come back strong and win a belt down at 135 before moving to 140. He certainly has the size to fight as high as welterweight.
Kid Diamond hurt DeMarco way more times then Valero did and DeMarco reacted better. Something didn't seem right, doesnt matter though all in the past.
Kid Diamond didnt have Valero's archetypal warrior essence. Valero was just pure truth.
Sometimes that hurts moar than any punch that lands.
I think once he realized how overpowering Valero's aura was he pretty much got shut down psychologically.
Valero's warrior essence was too much for him.
