Margarito to spar Sergio Martinez?

I agree he doesnt deserve this fight..

that's nice and all but sparring against Sergio's style is not really gonna get you ready against PAC's style Outside of getting Pac himself, this is the best option. I see some of what you are saying but his defensive movements are not the same as Pac's: Pac has both hands up on either side of his face and bobs from side to side, Martinez usually has his latent hand (the hand he is not actively throwing with) on that respective side of his face and either pulls back or leans to that side. Martinez is a "slick counterpuncher" if you will for 90% of his fights and only resembles Pac offensively when he "turns it on" at various times in the fight...he is not the volume puncher that Pac is. I realize it is hard to find some one who fights exactly like Pac does but imagine him getting adjusted to the way Martinez fights from a distance and jumps in with a quick 1-2 or just a single counter, and then facing Pac who will be fighting from a closer distance due to his height and reach limitations and 6 and 7 punches coming at him from all angles in a single combination movement. I see some slight similarities, they do both move a lot but Pac is a side to side head moving guy while Martinez uses his reflexes to pull back out of harm's way while his hands are down predominately. Getting used to head hunting a guy who has his hands down versus a guy with his hands up and a different defensive look might take a few precious rds away from Margs when he has to adjust to the difference. I understand that they could have Martinez emulate Pac's movements and such and maybe he is as close to Pac as anyone can find but I think even so, Margs will have trouble in there against the Pacster. I see what you're saying but outside of cloning the Hero of Asia this is about as good as it gets for a sparring partner.

Is that why Martinez asked for a rematch this year and Margarito said thanks, but no thanks? To be fair Margs had already been told a fight with Pac was in the making so you cant blame him for waiting to see if that would come to pass.

OK? that would make for good sparring but that is a POOR CHOICE to try and prepare for Manny, he need to find smaller guys with SPEED, maybe one of the 140 lbs guys

He's a southpaw. Check. Moves side to side and uses awkward angles. Check. He's darts in and out. Check. He's got speed. Check. He punches in combo's. Check. Outside of the superficial differences you mentioned, it don't get much better than Sexy imo. If anything its even better cuz' he'll be used to a bigger guy with a bigger punch so Pac will seem diminutive by comparison. He destroyed him brutally and almost dropped him out of the ring in round 1. I mean common Evelyn Salt you cant say that Margarito ducks Martinez when he said that he wants Mosley after Pacquiao fight. Martinez has said in multiple interviews that he would definitely fight Margs as he feels Margs was the only person to actually beat him. Now, Especially if they're sparring, Margs/Martinez 2011 has to happen.

That's really stupid and I don't like it. My opinion on Margarito aside, Martinez/Margarito II would be an amazing fight! If Martinez spanks Margarito (or the other way around) chances of a fight between them plummet. I realize great southpaw sparring partners are hard to find, but isnt Martinez and bit tall and defense-y to be effective?
