He released Toney because Toney wasn't taking the contract seriously. If Toney did, there would have been at least a bit of a struggle. Toney is in it for the check and doesn't give a **** about making it challenging for his competitior. That's why he got booted. And Rampage is a wrestler. Thats it? Because Toney didnt make a stuggle with the contract negotiation? Didnt you think maybe Toney has no offer to box in boxing but only ufc? It doesnt change the fact the Toney is a competitor. Dane has just gave him a bat match up, Toney its not his fault though.We didnt know Couture wouldnt even try to test his skill against a boxer. And Rampage is not pure wrestler in MMA, you havent seen him take down anyone. Even against Evans he was trained for take down defense more than taking down his opponent. What does that tell you? Rampage fight toe to toe just like Liddell.

The reason being Couture knew Toney's training was crap. Trevor Shurman is a nobody. He's the guy you leave to babysit your kids and drop a cool $500 to get a black belt to compete your kids' pajama set. Even Couture when he fought Vera didnt try to take him down. But when he face Toney he suddenly back to his wrestling background? actually i heard hes fighting in the up coming UFC in detroit. Probably on the undercard I guess embarassing boxing once wasn;t good enough. Now he has to do it in a boxing city ( detroit ). ugh......... Toney got CUT by the UFC and is NOT fightin again in the UFC Follow MMA

A kickboxer would beat him just as badly. Watch Ray Mercer vs Remy Bonjasky. Let's be honest here, this is just common sense. That fight doesn't mean ****. Remy is one of the best kickboxers that ever lived, against a fat old boxer with very little training. How is that fair to judge boxing like that? Let's take a prime mike tyson against a 50 year old washed up kick boxer and see what happens.

Not in boxing and not in mma. He's just some random hardass off the street that didnt know anything but halfway decent boxing but never in good enough shape to compete professionally.

There are a few Pro Boxers in MMA that are well respected among MMA fans and media. Tony just stunk up the joint is all.

That sucks I really wanna see him fight a striker All in all, he gave Toney what he was REALLY looking for (a payday). He got 500K which is more than a good amount of the UFC guys get. But he knew Toney would make a mockery out of himself, Dana simply provided the platform.
