Pac's fight with Margarito will do 1 million to 1.5 million PPV buys and will draw 80,000 fans to Cowboy Stadium. Mayweather seems able to sell PPV's marginally better than Pacquaio however Pacquaio has more fans showing up to his fights.
I think this guy is really reaching but I expect Pac vs Margarette to do around 600 to 700K.... What do you think?
who said 1.5 million was a failure for floyd? maybe it had to do with golden boy's projected 3 million ppv buys. 1.5 mill is not a failure. as for how much money these fighters make, it should be of no concern to you & i.
first of all, you must not have been on this site, cause a lot of people were claiming May/Mosley was a failure cause of the 3 million buys claim, which anyone with a brain would have known was bull**** and just hype. and as for how much Pac is making, i'm just curious, I could give a **** less what your concerns are, but i like info, plus i apologize cause the edit question wasn't directed at you, but anyone who could answer.
I agree. As a 24/7 that will prepare us for the two fights that matter:
Pac vs Floyd for P4P supremacy
Cotto vs Margarito 2, a very personal fight
If Cotto doesn't resign with Top Rank after 2010 (which I believe is when his contract ends or after 4 fights...whichever came 1st from what I read), I doubt we'll ever see that rematch (unfortunately).
I don't think anymore hype can be made on Pac vs Mayweather unless Martians came down to Earth and started placing bets.
the show isn't aimed towards fight fans like the 360 show is. 24/7 is its own lil sunday night miniseries with its own ratings. Its geared towards non boxing diehards. It has to offer them something to get them to buy the fight, which is really the last installment of the miniseries.
I agree, but at the end of the day you are watching 2 fighters being chronicled for 3-4 weeks. The people watching, though some may not be huge Boxing fans, are intrigued enough about Boxing to watch a 24/7 series for a few weeks that inevitably is made to promote a fight. If people want outright entertainment, there's always Jersey Shore or Entourage :biggthump.
i think it does better numbers than the clottey fight. 900k would be a success. anything less than 700k & manny has no arugment to make for getting 50-50 with floyd.
How come 900k would be a success and people claimed May/Mosley was a failure at 1.5. IMHO anything less then 1 million+ buys will result in him having no reason to make any demands on Mayweather.
EDIT; HOW MUCH IS PAC MAKING FOR THIS FIGHT?
I agree with that, but ultimately I don't see people not watching it at all if the show isn't filled with 90% comedy and 10% Boxing. Now I'm not gonna lie and say I enjoyed Roy vs Calzaghe's 24/7 (which I think we can all agree was the worst of the bunch), but there's plenty to build off both Pac and Margarito that IMO will make for an interesting 24/7.

1 Mil for me......
agreed, don't see it selling more then 1 million. if it sells less, then Arum has put together 1 too many in house, pointless fights.
See your point but I think most people watch 24/7 for pure entertainment value. I mean JMM drinking his own piss wasn't excatly insight. I honestly think the insight into boxers lives is good but they need something to keep viewers attention.

if you're just honest to yourself you should have a bigger number than that. but then...what you wish is different from what you expect.
Why wouldn't you watch Pacquiao on 24/7? Because he won't have intellectual convos about how Boxing has changed his life and or insulting someone? The reason I like 24/7 series is because you get to see fighters' contrast of lifestyles. If we saw nothin but Floyd every 24/7, though the Mayweather maniacs might salivate over it, but just like anything...overkill is never a good thing.
WillPacquiao vs Margarito 24/7 win an Emmy? Of course not. Are people on this website as well as the millions of people who subscribe to HBO gonna watch it? Absolutely.
And contrary to the people you've asked, the casual Boxing fans I talk to know who Margarito is and refer to him as "Mr Plaster" and they only watch the big fights. People aren't THAT clueless.
as I said... Pac 24/7= Crouching Tiger hidden dragon love scenes....
Pac-Marg is as about intiguing as Pac-Clottey and they did 700K, I expect the numbers to rise about to 900K because of the mexican polulation being more involved with this fight than the Clottey
Excellent reasoning, Nino Brown.

With the 24/7 first episode showing Mosley whooping the **** out Margarito and the plaster fiasco will reopen some wounds..I suspect about 700k-950k..I might watch it but I won't be paying for that **** lol
You think ppl like watching PAcquiao 24/7's?
Margarito is irrelevant these days and every casual fan G dog has talked to is like "WHO THE EFF IS MARGARTITO!?" and beleive it or not its THOSE fans who get the PPV buys high...the casual fans, not hardcores like on boxingscene
