Why Margarito might win, and why I want him to.

Margarito will win this fight,no way Poochio can take those body shots.Margarito will slow Poochio down by crashing the body and start setting the head up.The fight's gonna be bloody,the hit and run will not work in this wone.It worked with Paul Williams because he had range to keep Margarito at bay,Pacquiao needs to get close to land his shots,that will be his undoing

Unless Margarito develops some speed over night, and Pac regress speed-wise and Pac elect to fight in a phone-booth face-first then Margarito has NO chance...Margarito gets a worse beating than Cotto got in November. Oh how true. But, Manny doesn't have the best defense in the world either. So maybe Marg could hit Manny with some punches that he may not be able to hit Sergio Martinez with etc. I just used Sergio for comparison since he is also a southpaw. Manny is a great fighter and very very fast but it's a different type of speed.

Margarito is gonna come in ready for this fight with a clear mind and physically fit....One thing people are not taking into account in the Mosley fight is that mentally, Margarito wasn't in that fight....that whole fiasco with the plaster was in his mind and that was a major weakness for him..... That's behind him now and I would say he has alot to prove now that he's back.... He's gonna put the pressure on Manny and he knows how to fight tall as well....Manny is getting his ass whoooped...

Margarito beat Martinez. Martinez even said it was a legitimate victory, also he's got a pretty sick uppercut with range. That's something we haven't seen in Manny's latest fights and could be a game-changer. Just some reason why he MIGHT pull out the shock victory. Now why I want him to win?? I want Margarito to be on an upswing for a Margarito vs Martinez rematch at 160. I know Martinez wants it and aside from a cotto rematch, what else would you want to see? If Marg controls pacquiao's lateral movement he is on the virtue of winning the game. I could remember when Oscar tells about when he fought PACMAN it looks like he is fighting 20guys inside the ring. As he did not see where the punches of PACMAN came from and by the time the punches lands he is no where to found. Good luck MARG this is the right time to redeemed yourself....

He's a big volume puncher. And pressure from a tall man is different than pressure from a little guy. So while Manny could handle Hatton coming forward, he may not be able to handle Marg. All that aside, I favor Manny to win the fight by Mid/Late TKO. Would not be totally surprised if Marg won though. If only he wasn't so damn slow.

Pretty much. Although it must be said that: If Pacquiao dominates every round it will be considered a great fight and immediately compared with the greatest ones. If Mayweather dominates every round, well it's "one sided bah, Mayweather only fights when he knows he can win" That's EXTREMELY unfair. Like i said, Floyd will only be considered like the others when he retires. I remember Ali and i saw all the tape and before he was the greatest, while he was still active, he was the clown, people would smirk when he said that and now he's truly the greatest. I think Floyd is similar, made of the same cloth. Floyd has the talent and ability to go down in history as an ATG but not he lacks the heart. Ali fought the best in his division and often times he fought them multiple times. Unless Floyd follows through with his statement of fighting only the best for the remainder of his career, I believe he will be remembered more as a could have been, rather than as a great.

tony is just not fast enough, so i just cant see him winning. the only chance for the upset to happen is if pac gets cornered and ko'd by the volume of punching. i dont see that happening though, i see pac hitting and moving all night long, pacs footwork and handspeed are just way too much for tony to handle. i expect an easy night for manny, ill say tony goes down in the eighth.

I think we all want to see that fight because it has been engraved in our minds to be the biggest fight out there. I just hope that if it does happen, it's not a sh*tty fight and we are satisfied with the outcome, whatever it may be, because they finally fought. On the other hand, if it sucks and is one-sided and lets just say Floyd wins easy - Will we go back and say that we wish Tony would have won against Manny so he would have fought Floyd Jr., because it would have been a better fight? Bottom line is that we are never satisfied as fans anymore. We want more and more and we want it to be great because we think we deserve it. I wish it was that simple, but some fighters are not about making us happy, they are about making money. So in the end again, we will complain. It's a neverending chain of events. Pretty much. What Mosley did right that Cotto didn't was that he held/clinched Margo right after Mosley finished with his flurries or felt that he was in position to get hit by Margo. Roach will hopefully add that as part of his game plan as Manny is similar to Cotto in that respect.

i wouldnt count Margarito out. though im still rooting for Manny, Marg is a pressure fighter. he will be a lot bigger come fight night. what if Manny couldnt hurt Marg? because i know Marg will keep on coming and keep on punching. Manny felt Cotto and Clotteys punch. im pretty sure he can feel Marg punches too. i think Manny is just too small for Jr. Middleweight although most boxing fans and experts already doubted him over and over when he face bigger opponents. Manny didnt just beat those guys, he destroy them. he is comfortable in welterweight division. im not sure if he can be as dominant in jr middleweight. thisfight might be a test
