I think Pavlik beats Pirog.

Pirog has way better defense than Pavlik. The blueprint for Kelly Pavlik is already printed out. The only thing about Dmitry is lack of pro bout experience and he is 30. If this fight takes place, it put a lot of pressure on the Promoter as well. The promoter puts Dmitry against Kelly, if Dmitry wins, he obviously has to fight at that level of elite fighters...true? If that is true, IMO, fighting at that level with that much pro bout experience is a little dangerous. He's going to be fighting real world champions that have been in wars, and title shots/defenses...Daniel Jacobs wasn't even close to being a real world champion. So for the promoter, they have to take a chance..."Do we gamble with Dmitry and put him in with the elite fighters? or should we slow play him for a few more fights, start a large fan base, then start giving him big fights...?" Dmitry is a potential star. A Russian, with superb defense, knock out power, solid offense...in the eyes of a promoter, it's a gamble.

Pavlik can't make MW anymore. Problem is SMW is much more talented right now, so he's kinda in Purgatory. And this fight would be senseless at a catchweight.

I havent seen enough of Pirog to say that he beats Pavlik. Pirog looked good against Jacobs but Jacobs hadnt fought anyone yet and cant bang like Kelly. How do we know that Pirog can take a good punch?

I agree with this. In my view, Pirog vs. Pavlik = Waste of Pirog's time. You can't be serious....I mean who else would he fight thats a bigger name than Pavlik? If he is able to beat Pavlik that would be huge for his career imo.

I don't think Pavlik's the bum everyone is writing him off to be. But the guy needs to get back on track with a good win soon. Just that Pavlik needs to be matched up a certain way, but I wouldn't call him a bum.

In terms of skills and talent, Pavlik is nowhere near Pirog's level. I think the one dimensional Pavlik is tailor made for Pirog. Pirog by wide UD. I agree with this. In my view, Pirog vs. Pavlik = Waste of Pirog's time.
