Would anyone want to see Hopkins fight again? I mean, I LOVE the science just as much as the next hardcore fan, but what Hopkins does at this point isn't even science. Fukking HBO man. You would have thought that the PPV #'s from the Jones/Hopkins fight would be an indicator of who the public isn't interested in.
It's just that once Hopkins wins, we will see him hang on to the title without fighting for a long time like we did before. I don't think it matters that much though, because 175 is a dud of a division right now.
As much as I dislike Hopkins, I can't really blame him. He's fighting the #1 guy in the world and brings more fans to the table than Dawson.
Forgot to mention Pascal isn't a blown up Middleweight that Hopkins is fighting either.
He's a blown up Super Middleweight though. But here's the thing. Dawson fought him and called out Bute while ignoring Cloud's call outs and everybody was like yippie and had a party in the street. But if Hopkins wants to fight those guys, he's fighting smaller dudes. I don't get some people on here.
Well it's clear someone needs to MAKE him retire, so I guess you should be rooting for Pascal to give him a whooping.
trust me thats what i'm rooting for...

cus every generation only has one or two legends. it's always awe inspiring to see a legend in the ring for possibly his last time
Underdog my dick.
Seriously, who thought 170lb part time fighter Winky was going to beat Bernard... :nonono:
I don't know Winky's mother maybe... Would be fun if someone had the betting line.
Who had Winky beating Hopkins, raise your hand........

Hopkins was the underdog for Winky Wright, Ornelas and Roy Jones?
Reallly????
He was the underdog for Calzaghe, which he lost.
I dont care if "many disagree"... because many agree with the decision.
Pavlik he was, but again... fighting the MW champ 10 pounds above his prime weight class... STILL a good win... better performance than anything else.
Still isn't a legit LHW, either way you slice it.
I didn't ask if you care about the controversial decision, just stated that many disagree with it. Also yes Hopkins was the underdog against wright. Also I said other than the last two meaning other than his last two fights, which were ornelas and jones. Minus those two he was the underdog for everyfight since Taylor.

Exactly. It's a pretty solid win for Hops if he can pull it off. Amazing when one factors in the age.
A lot of the blame should also be directed towards Roy; who didn't throw any punches. It was awful I'll admit, but both deserve the blame for that, both of them.
Those are some biggg asss titieessss:hitit:
Hopkins was the underdog for all those fights minus the last two. take that for what its worth. Officially Hopkins didn't get the win against Calzaghe, but many disagree, close fight that could go either way. I casn't say the same about Pascals clear win over dawson though. We all know that the 2008 Calzaghe was also lightyears better then Pascal.

Tarver - Very good win... but 4 years ago
Wright - at 170LBS... really?
Calzaghe - Sure... but he didn't win?
Pavlik - MW Champ at 170lb catchweight
Ornels, Jones - Really?
Johnson - Top 3 ranked LHW
Tarver - Top 3 ranked LHW

Johnson - Top 3 ranked LHW
shocking loss to Pascal. - Top 4 ranked LHW
Just the NAME of the fighter doesnt distinguish a better win

like a Pascal-Hopkins fight if Dawson rematch not happening
the right opponent can make Bernard exciting
Pascal should bring out what good Hopkins has left in him
if not, he will put him out for good with a loss
prefer Cloud or Dawson, maybe Bute, but Hopkins is ok

I still don't know how he has any fans. It's not his boxing style must be some sort of man crush.
