you make great points.
however... hopkins was too big for tito. hell, even winky was too big for tito. those fights were above 147 and 154, which I feel was tito's best weight classes.
as for dlh, tito beat dlh.
I ain't saying floyd can't beat tito.. I'm just saying that tito/floyd would be a helluva fight and that its a dangerous fight for floyd. so dangerous in fact, that floyd might retire instead of fighting tito.
Tito got the win, but he didn't win the fight. I was rooting for Tito that entire fight, and in reality DLH didn't earn the win but he didn't deserve to lose it either. It should have been a draw but only because Oscar ran, had he kept it going for the next 4 rounds it would have been his W easily.
I agree, but if anyone at 147 could do that with Tito it was Mosley and I'd favor Mosley. His chin is good, he has great power and he is much faster than Tito.
maybe.
it would have been a great scrap though.
shane is not really a mover type , mate.
people confuse speed with being a mover.
shane was fast but he didn't really use it except to get inside and in combinations.
shane would slug with tito. that's why i don't think shane could beat tito.

Oscar wasn't able to land a single left hook. Tito is good but there's a decent chance he could be made a fool of for 12 rounds.
I'd give prime Oscar a better chance than prime Tito.
Agree with this.
Lol @ all the people that still think Pacquiao doesn't stand a chance against any decent prime 147 pounder. What more does the man have to do? I'm not necessarily saying that he goes out there and clowns Tito for 12 rounds, but to basically write him off is completely ridiculous.
Someone stated my main jist about Manny/Shane. They just move too much for Tito he is too basic of a fighter for them. You bring up a valid point with the reach, but Tito fights up close he may have had more success against Cotto than the other guys but I don't think he would have won.

tito is not a pressure fighter like castillo though.
i wish he was.
tito even though people makes fun of his skills (shame people are stupid , tito had solid boxing skills) was a boxer-puncher type.
tito wasn't a stupid slugger and he wasn't a pressure/workrate type either.
i wish he was. he probably could have done better against oscar , bernard , winky , etc. if he was.
tito had solid boxing skills and even though he depended on his punching power , he landed those power punches boxing.
that's why winky and bernard made tito look stupid with the jab.
tito doesn't punch unless he's properly set.
winky and bernard would just pop him with a jab everytime he tried to get his feet set.
if tito was more the reckless , slugger type he probably would have done better against them.
Well said my man.
actually floyd has been hit flush more than one time in his career, but much less than most. fights that come to mind are corley, judah, mosley, castillo....
tito don't have the southpaw stance of corley or judah or the speed of corley, judah, or mosley... but if castillo (slow as he was) could cut off the ring and pressure floyd, you better be damned sure tito could do the same if not better
Tito doesn't know how to cut off the ring thats the whole point. He simply follows his fighters thats why he lost to Winky, Hopkins, DLH they moved jabbed, pot shotted, moved again. Tito has no clue how to deal with movement and a jab. As for Floyd... you just named 5 guys in a 40 fight career and the one from judah that "rocked" Floyd was only because Judah stepped on his foot. So you are only left with Corley, Castillo and Shane. If in only 3 of your professional fights you were hit hard then I'll take the chances that Tito would miss. Thats like 3/10,000 punches Floyd is a beast, Tito would never ever beat Floyd.

well you were talking about pac/mosley's combo/speed.
whatever.
you do know there's a big difference between hopkins and winky's jab than cotto's right?
hopkins is 6'1 and winky is 5'10-5'11. hopkins and winky's reach is listed at 75 and 72 in. (i think their reach is probably longer. winky has long arms)
cotto is 5'7 and has what 65-67 in. reach?
you don't think anyone ever tried to jab tito before?

When did I say combo's bothered Tito? I said you could jab him to death all night long and thats all Cotto would need to do. I don't see how Tito's resume is better, I just don't see it...

Trinidad didn't move as much as I'd like him to, to give him a chance against a 147 Pacquiao. Right now, if you bring back the Trinidad that fought DLH, give me the Pacquiao that fought Cotto and I would put my money on Pacquiao. Sorry but you need more than one punch against Pacquiao. Those who say Trinidad would win just say "If that left hook lands, it's over" well think, what if that left hook doesn't land? And let's not act like Trinidad was Pernell Whitaker Jr, he was hittable and he got frustrated at moving targets. He was at his best against fighters who would stay right in front of him. Pacquiao moves around too much for Trinidad. 35 year old Hopkins, against Trinidad, looked like Ali with the footwork. That was because Trinidad fought in straight lines. Like Hatton fought in straight lines too. Remember Mike Tyson wanting to work for Pacquiao in the Hatton fight? He told Pacquiao Hatton fights in straight lines and that he will be easy to hit. Same as Trinidad only Trinidad had better defense than Hatton and a better chin. Still a hittable target.
And no don't be stupid and say i'm comparing Trinidad to Hatton, i'm not.
pacquiao's footwork would give tito fits.
he ain't knocking out tito though.
that means 12 rounds.
not inconceivable for tito to land something big in 36 minutes.
let's not act like pacquiao is pernell whitaker either.
pacquiao still gets hit. tito is still taller and longer. his in and out style could frustrate tito but he'll be in range plenty of times.
unless tito is shot and dead at the weight like oscar was , he'll land something on pacquiao.
with tito , sometimes one is all that is needed.
footwork and long jabs bother tito. not really combinations.
tito didn't have the best footwork.
mate , i have every tito fight on dvd and i've seen almost every cotto fight since his 140 days.
there's no way cotto beats tito. no way.
that's talking hypothetical matchup.
as far as resume goes tito is better than cotto as well.
tito is above cotto.

Looks like you're running out of material already too, try again.
maybe. but it's still my material.
that guy was doing the generic "tough guy" "come to my city" internet threats on my profile and copy and pasting other people's internet memes.
:lol1:
floyd don't have the kind of legs that he used to at 130. tito can KO with the right hand as well.
floyd possibly pulls it off, but if tito hits floyd flush like mosley did, tito would finish floyd off.
And Floyd got hit like that once in his entire career. Someone slower than Mosley isn't going to land something like that either, get real.

maybe.....but i see floyd being too smart and boxing his way through
if tito landed flush then of course he could knock floyd out
This was legitimately funny lol.
I wasn't using a triangle theory first all, I was stating once again that styles make fights. But how else are you really supposed to compare fighters? You put them up against people they faced correct? I think that Cotto had tougher fights for longer, and he'd beat guys that Tito couldn't such as Oscar and Winky. The Marg loss is tainted but I could see Cotto losing the fight without the plaster though I doubt it. I know Tito would beat Marg, but I think he would lose to Mosley and possibly Manny. Its hard for me to tell because the more I think about it, I can't really remember anyone Tito fought who had the power/speed combo and that Mosley and Paq had. Essentially if you stood in front of Tito you would lose if you boxed him you'd win. Cotto is I guess the same way, if you pressure him you win but he's got enough power and skill to keep you from imposing his will on you. I don't think Tito is any good at all cutting off the ring and getting passed a jab, thus Cotto is the better fighter.
