Why dont Boxers ever settle fight purses by who wins?

Because most times it aint up to the boxer. Too many other people need to get paid.

do you feel oscar dlh would take a chance fighting hopkins if he was going to get the smaller payday? i dont even think manny would fight floyd with those terms. why would manny give margarito or clotty 40% with a chance of giving him 60%. makes no sense. Obviously it wouldn't apply to Margarito or Clottey,but with Floyd Pacman it definately applies!!

It's because do something like that is not a good "buissness" decision. No other way I can explain it. It is a great idea, no more posturing and arguing "I brought this many PPV"s against this fighter" and the opponent says "Yes, but brought that many PPV"s against another fighter. If you want to biggest peice of the pie, shut your mouth, get in the ring, and take it from the other man. I believe that is how Bhop and Jones did it in there fight.

Like winner gets 60% and loser gets 40% and so on. I always see these disputes about pay so i just wanted to know most bouts are mismatches?

the reason is because the purse is determined by how much money the two fighters will bring in and since one fighter usually brings in more then he wants to be paid for what he brings in.

because that would just be stupid, course you dont be thinkin you're gonna lose, but if you do you gotta get somethin for your troubles and who knows, might be your last big paycheck
