While his son Erik Morales might have been a touch cryptic in his prediction yesterday regarding a Pacquiao vs. Mayweather fight, the father of Erik Morales – Jose Morales – was far more direct.
“I believe Manny Pacquiao will win the fight by the eighth round,” says Jose Morales, who taught his son Erik how to box at the age of five and was a former amateur boxer himself.
When asked why he believes Pacquiao will conquer Mayweather, Jose Morales explained, “He’s more aggressive. He’s very aggressive. He’s very sharp, throws many accurate punches and keeps the pressure on his opponents. That’s why he will win.”
I then ask if Mayweather can handle what Pacquiao will assault him with?
“No, he can’t,” answered Jose Morales. “He show it with Jose Luis Castillo. He can’t handle that aggression. Mayweather is the kind of boxer where it is very dangerous for him – the aggressive boxing – because he can’t handle it.”
Next, I ask if he thinks Mayweather is scared to sign the contract to box Manny Pacquiao for an estimated $40,000,000?
“The punch of Manny Pacquiao can kill him very easily,” replies Morales, with no hesitation or doubt in his voice. “It can put him down very easily. So he cannot handle that.”
I wonder if Jose Morales thinks Manny Pacquiao is superior to the version of Jose Luis Castillo that boxed Mayweather and gave him major trouble in their first fight especially?
“Yes, much more,” said Morales. “He’s very aggressive. Very aggressive.”
Finally, I wonder if the educated eyes of Jose Morales can see anybody out there on the current landscape who can defeat Manny Pacquiao. Morales pauses then offers an interesting name. “El Canelo. He’s fromm Guadalajara. He’s very strong, very young.”
Jose Morales was speaking of 20-year-old Saul Alvarez, the blossoming superstar who reportedly attracted a TV viewing audience of almost 60,000,000 for his last fight in Mexico, televised by network Televisa. Golden Boy-promoted Alvarez (33-0-1, 25 KO’s) will box former Welterweight champion Carlos Baldomir on September 18 in Los Angeles on the Mosley-Mora undercard.

Hatton will be a hall of famer.Doesn't mean he's a great figter,Hernandez wasn't.
What I call a great fighter is a Barrera or a JMM.
I never said they were in the same class.
So hatton and Genaro are 1st ballot HOF boxers but weren't great fighters.
For example, Genaro Hernandez, a HOF when floyd was 21. You don't consider Castillo great yet the site you are posting on has him listed him as one of the top 25 lw chanpions of ALL TIME!! Yet you sayhe isn't great. And they are not in the same class as JMM, Barrera, and Morlaes. Thats is why I posted respectfully, this suggests you know very little about boxers and boxing.

WTF? dude i know you're a floyd fan but you went overboard w/ this stupid remark. how come only flomos can come up w/ these conspiracy theories?
Yea but when Shane stopped throwing .. it was cause he was scared of being countered by Floyd. Not the age/ring rust... it was Floyd. :lol1:
cool. But lets also remeber you don't have to get wet to know its raining outside!
Yep.. and you should remember fighting for your opinions is cool, but don't believe they contain the whole truth, or the only truth.
no one dominated clottey like manny becasue Bob told clottey not to fight or throw punches. No dissrespect but how else do you explain him not fighting back? Manny only landed 20% of the 1200 punches threw.

You said your piece.. so believe what you want man.. agree to disagree.
cool. But lets also remeber you don't have to get wet to know its raining outside!
just how it was easy for everyone else.
i would beleived it IF HE KO'D CLOTTEY. He never even buckled him or stunned him lmao
So you name me someone who HAS hurt him or buckled him? Clottely is beyond durable!!!!!
Yes he did and paid a $600k fee for it. he came in at 146 for a 144 lb fight. THAT IS NOT MORE THAN 147. Please stop with the never tested positive. Niether did Shane.
Getting TKO'd when trying to win makes a fight VALID? You make no sense. You say he isnt a bum, then say he is a good fighter, then you go on to say Just because he fights Manny doesn't mean he is a good fighter.. What are you getting at?
Trying to win makes it valid. Josh wasn't in there to win IMO. You know my point about him being good so stop it but i will appease you anyway. Josh Clottey is an average fighter. You said he was good-grea becaue he fought Manny. Just because he fights Manny it doesn't make him more than average or "good".
You said your piece.. so believe what you want man.. agree to disagree.
lol imagine if Mayweather fought that Clottey? Probably the most boring fight on this earth. Mayweather couldn't KO Clottey with plaster in his gloves.
LOL! And we'd be hearing some posters singing a different tune. About how it was a boxing clinic and that the reason Clottey didn't throw was in fear of being countered by Floyd (ala Shane/Floyd).
Manny is not everyone else homie.. and for the record, it will NOT be an easy fight for either fighter.
Did you see the fight? It was embarrassing. Clottey hid in his shell the whole fight. How you gonna hurt somebody when they're hiding the whole fight. Dude was fighting (not really fighting) a scared fight. BTW: No one has ko'd clottey.
Nobody has dominated Clottey like Pac did...

Nope, it is not the same.
FACT 1: Floyd came in over contracted weight in the fight prior. You can't get that through your head.
FACT 2:Manny has NEVER tested positive for any PEDs.

Same as floyd's camp, they just wanted "preventive measures". You can't have it both ways. OST is no more a risk for manny than it is floyd. Stop that bullsh!t dude.

I didnt say he was a bum. Stop taking my argument to the extreme to justify your over rating of Josh Clottey. If he gets TKO'd when trying to win FINE! That makes the fight VALID!!I never said Manny was going to lose if CLottey fought, I said Clottey DIDNT FIGHT!!! Josh Clottey is a good fighter. He was not worthy of a title shot in March nor is he or has he ever been a great fighter.
Just because he fights Manny doesn't mean he is a good fighter.

So explain me who are the great fighters he fought?
They talk like Floyd is Leonard, but I see no Duran,Hearns or Hagler on his record.
When I say live dog,I mean,a great fighters in his prime.
I think Castillo and Corrales RIP aren't great fighters.
They aren't even in the JMM,Morales,Barrera league.
They are the best prime fighters he fought.
It's really poor for a guy who fought 21 championships.
I don't considere Floyd ever fought JMM in a fair,or close to be fair fight.
Mosley was a dangerous fight, but the guy was 39 years old,18 months lay off,was gassed after 4 rounds.
If you don't like my post, argue but don't biitch.

It was a stupid request, but since Floyd went over the contracted weight of 144 against JMM.. they just wanted preventative measures. Though there are already rules in place by the NSAC (25% of purse), I don't see Mayweather coming in overweight anyway. What stipulations did Manny demand that could possibly be a risk to Mayweather?
And gets (T)KOd in the process. Before Manny beat Clottey, Clottey was a tough fight for ANY WW.. now he's a certified bum. Tends to happen to fighters once Manny fights them.

He fought average fighters all his career, never was in a great division,he never fought a live dog.
respectfully, this suggests you know very little about boxers and boxing. Any poster who objectively reviews floyd's resume and reaches this conclusion clearly lacks the ability to separate their head from their ass.

Floyd asked for OST the same way manny asked for $10 mil per lb. Floyd said yes to all manny' stips. manny said no. Not floyd's fault.

A good-great fighter. Dude please man the word great should never be used to describe Josh Clottey. Clottey hit manny with about 30% of his punches. if he simply punches more he hits manny more.
And gets (T)KOd in the process. Before Manny beat Clottey, Clottey was a tough fight for ANY WW.. now he's a certified bum. Tends to happen to fighters once Manny fights them.
It's not because Floyd never get beat that he's unbeatable.
He fought average fighters all his career, never was in a great division,he never fought a live dog.
Mosley was old,JMM was small.
Oscar at 154 was the bigger task he faced after Castillo maybe.
Now,don't get me wrong,Floyd is an uncredible fighter,he's a P4P picasso.
But we all know what happened when Dawson fought a live dog who really wanted it.
Mosley is a looser,he's 3-6 in his elite fights,2-7 if they hadn't robbed Oscar in the rematch.
Nw,Flyd won ten rounds and was marvelous.I recognize it,he's a superb fighter.I felt blessed to see those skills.
But,Pacquiao has the momentum and I think he will beat Floyd, momentum and southpaw stance.
I'm not even saying Pacquiao is a better fighter, just saying,Pacquiao has the momentum and the style to beat him,Floyd with his shoulder roll will be vulnerable btw Manny's flurries.
Pascal had the momentum, the game plan and athleticity to beat Dawson.
Dawson was lost altough he's a smart and superb fighter.
I tell you he almost get knocked out by Mosley,a fighter who wasn't able to hurt Cotto.
Mayweather,like every fighter,is beatable,ie Dawson-Pascal,ie Jones-Tarver.
So yall Flomos should stop being arrogant and stick to boxing instead of girlfriends war..
He fought average fighters all his career, never was in a great division,he never fought a live dog.

styles make fights. swarmer beats counterpuncher. we saw this in the pascal/dawson fight.
chances of floyd to even think of fighting pac is now down to 0%. Pac needs to let marg win some rounds and make him last 12 rounds in order to not completely scare lil floyd.
