Boxing all of sudden has regained its’ spark this week due to an awkward union between two of the most controversial figures in the sport, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Don King, but what does all of this mean?
Could it mean the biggest fight in history has inched its’ way to a possibility? For desperate boxing fans, an inch is more than enough. It’s that inch that stirs the excitement once again and may finally bring what the boxing world deserves. What has gone on in the past few months is absolutely absurd. In a short recap and summary, let’s look at what took place.
-Pacquiao agrees to drug testing. -Floyd ignores deadline and lies negotiations ever took place. -Floyd tells Dana he isn’t desperate. -Pacquiao vs. Margarito generates no hype. -Floyd gets with Don King
Last but not least…
The union catches the attention and excitement of none other than, Manny Pacquiao himself.
Although the Pacman is never known for calling out opponents, in a recent article he ended his silence by finally stating what’s been in his heart as he addressed Floyd, “Prove your greatness and face me.”
In Snoop terms it means, “Let’s SQUAB!”
Could it be a newly found side of cockiness that prompted such an action? Surely not, as one knows that the Pacman has remained grounded and humble throughout his career. It could be solely for no other reason than that, “GREATNESS pursues GREATNESS.”
Although one may argue Floyd’s greatness, they must come to terms that he is the only opponent the fans want to see fight Pacquiao. Now as we all wait for someone else to end his silence. The Pound for Pound matchup now lies in the hands of Floyd Mayweather Jr. The question will not cease as it continues to hound him like a crazy ex-girlfriend the rest of his life. Floyd’s legacy lies in who he wants to be remembered as?
The undefeated champion.
or
The man who never faced Manny Pacquiao.
Which one is it?
"floyd doesnt have to prove anything. He can eat a bowl of **** and itd be just another step towards being a legend. all roads lead to floyd mayweather"

Come give me my biggest payday as of yet so i can fukkin retire.
This just proves that all roads lead to Mayweather. Pac is suppose to be the P4P best but he is begging Floyd to fight. This further illustrates who needs who.
typical, Flomos thinking its ok for Floyd not to fight Manny as long as Floyd wont get the blame... start being boxing fans, not nut huggers
Now that was a beautiful post right there...THis guy really knows his boxing and is speaking the truth. People are praying on an upset. Which in boxing anything can happen. But i wouldnt put my money on manny to ko Floyd. And thats the only way Manny beats FLoyd is by KO. ANd like u said if Manny cant get him out of there within the first 3 rounds. GAME OVER...
Thanks, man!
take them blood test, juicer
Nah, everyone cept flomos already fine with Manny doing his thing. Watch the news brah, read the sports pages. Ball is on Floyd's court, get in the ring coward. Floyds turn to prove he aint one. Everyone is good with what Manny has to do.
LoL. I gotta respect Manny for trying but honestly, I think he's asking for trouble. If he keeps on, it's gonna look like Manny is being a bully and wanting to pick a fight. On fight night, both guys will show up ready, but Floyd's frame and reach look obviously apparent. Soon after they get in the ring it's discovered that Manny doesn't have a way to win.
Here's why.
I don't have to tell you guys why Manny won't outbox Floyd, as this point it's fairly self-explanatory. It's possible Manny could win a decision if his stamina holds up and he's able to deliver volume consistently. My problem with this is: how will Manny be able to pressure Floyd when Mosley wasn't? I tend to think Mosley probably hits harder than Manny and we all know Mosley was fighting bigger guys like Wright. One would tend to believe that Mosley would at least be the aggressor. Why was Mayweather the aggressor?
Strength- Mayweather used to be considered a pretty small guy, but ever since he moved up to 147-154, he has actually grown into his weight. Mayweather was small as a kid, just as I was. I think his body has matured now hence the strength/toughness.
Power- Mayweather's power is underrated. I can think of a very beaten up legend (RIP), an undefeated, relentless body puncher from Manchester, and Zab Judah that would probably disagree.
Speed- Mayweather is among the fastest in the sport.
Boxing fundamentals- Excellent boxer who has improved his jab and his left hook and now has a dangerous offense. He decapitates people who don't move their heads, aka Mosley/Hatton.
Conclusion:
Barring a sudden moment of confusing occurring in the first 3 rounds, where Manny might still have something new in his arsenal to show Floyd. After Floyd gets a moment to adjust to southpaw and his speed, this fight will be over. Floyd KO/TKO late or by wide UD. This fight won't be close. It will look like a great big man beating and following a great little man around the ring.

Note that when you say "18 day" cutoff, for Mosley-Mayweather it wasn't at all an 18 day cutoff at all persé.
They stopped drawing blood 18 days out, but Mosley or Mayweather had no knowledge that they would do so. That's part of the program to keep the fighter's guessing as to exactly when they would come in a draw blood or not, which is why it would have been foolish for either one of them to try and dope up.
When you tell a fighter that the last day ever that he could possibly be tested is 18 days away from the fight, that is different.
That said I doubt you could get much accomplished in 2 and a half weeks if you did want to juice up, but I'm not exactly positive on that as I don't have a clue what kind of performance enhancers are available on the market
I just said everything u just said a few post back....

LOL, why would he have to beg when he is likely gonna make near 20 million for fighting a guy that he is gonna manhandle?
I don't believe Manny Pacquiao is an expert at sitting in the pocket. Does Manny Pacquiao know how to clinch? I sure wouldn't consider him a likely candidate for highest boxing IQ. No offense. lol

If 18 days is fine then it should be fine. But we are not dealing with the most rational people here. Floyd originally wanted it up to the fight, manny gave him a 24 day cut off, Floyd gave him 14 days. Now that Mosley had a 18 day cut off

fcuk all flomos. none of you have answered my post at page 10.
why the hell was JMM not tested for shit?
WHat does it Matter that he wasnt tested? Up to Manny Pacquiao No one was tested. And since the first fall through the only fighters that have been tested is Mayweather & Mosley. Oh one more thing. Tyson vs Evander II invovled random testing and Nate Campbell was randomly tested after the baby bull upset...
ok. i agree that random is that, random. i also agree that the fighters should not know the cutoff. but you see both parties msut protect themselves and spell it out in the contract.
clearly, 18 days out is good enough. else, they would have drawn blood after, right? both parties should expect that blood testing stops there or around that date.
this is boxing and a lot psywar goes on. what if one of them demands a blood test just after weigh in? using the random definition they should both get it, see?
If 18 days is fine then it should be fine. But we are not dealing with the most rational people here. Floyd originally wanted it up to the fight, manny gave him a 24 day cut off, Floyd gave him 14 days. Now that Mosley had a 18 day cut off, should that be applied to Manny? I dont know. But it seems to be unlikley since the fight fell through over 14 days. Just like anyone else. I want to see the fight too, but to get the fight we want, these fighters need to give and take. Maybe Manny should agree to testing up until the 14 days or closer to the fight. Maybe floyd can come down from 60/40 to 55/45 or 50/50 still. These fighters arent compromising...they're just complaining..
Floyd was coward going into the castillo fight, corrales fight, hatton fight, oscar fight, mosley fight etc. This title of being a "Coward" is nothing new my friend. Why do you think he's fights sale out? According to Pactards "People pay to see him lose"...If that is true then why is he still labled a coward after he dominates his opponents...there is no answer for that question...
Pac ain't Castillo, ain't Corrales, ain't Hatton, ain't Oscar, ain't Mosley. When are you Flomos going to recognize that? The so called "Biggest Fight in Boxing History" was not with any of those guys. It is Pacquiao vs. Mayweather. No matter how floyd tries to con you guys into thinking it is just another fight, it is not. His legacy and reputation are on the line for real this time. This will stick with Floyd forever and Floyd knows this because everywhere he goes they remind him of it. Recognize that. Whatever Floyd has done that people deemed him as ducker because he did not fight so and so is all forgivable and forgettable but this ain't. Believe that and recognize that floyd ain't getting away with this one. Thats real talk. Flomos can go and hide and ignore all this but when history is written, what Floyd does in the apex of he career will be defined by his decision to fight another apex fighter at the apex of his career called Manny Pacquiao. /end thread

no, floyd wasn't branded a coward early in his career. infact, i was some sort of a fan during the his early career. he was criticized only lately after his few fights at WW. then retiring and coming back to fight a career FW for his comeback fight.
The thing is you opinion is of no consequence nor is Floyd's in the biggest picture of legacy and historical implications. The public has spoken and seems ok with whatever manny has agreed with. It is floyd they are calling a coward now and it is up to Floyd to prove he is not. They asked Manny to prove he is not a cheat and Manny has responded in an acceptable manner to most except the most loyal Floyd fans. Now they are asking Floyd to prove he is not a coward. The burden of proof is on Floyd now.
