I was watching the Alexander fight last night thinking if Kotelnik had decent power Alexander would be in trouble. So if Khan has a better reach sharper boxing skills and more power then hed have plenty of confidence going in to a potential Alexander bout.
yeah it is safe to say that!
however it is also safe to say that Khan does NOT have the defense or the chin that Kotelnik has, STYLES MAKE FIGHTS, Kotelnik style was effective against Alexander that does not mean just because Khan beat Kotelnik that he can beat Alexander, just like it doesn't mean that because Kotelnik beat Maidana that Maidana can't beat Khan
BOXING doesn't work like that but the only way to find out is if they all fight each other
Well yea, look at the worlds top fighters and they are all extremely physically gifted. Give kotelinks traits to pac or floyd and they wouldnt be where they are either
and I would agree with you. Although Floyd would probably still be a top fighter in his weight class, and Pacquiao would as well. they just wouldnt be p4p status.(or at least as high as they are)
I just find that there is a difference between skill and physical attributes.
I think Kotelnik is technically better then Khan. Khan is faster and has more athleticism though. Also Kotelnik has a great defense and very good chin. Just because Fighter A has trouble with Fighter B doesn't mean Fighter C will beat him. Styles make fights I keep telling people.
I dont consider 'speed' to be a skill, I consider it an athletic trait(which of course still matters, but its still different from skill imo). at least mostly, although there are technical tricks to be able to punch fast and be light on your feet.
not that I consider Khan 'unskilled', but I think he more or less uses basics and relys on his speed the rest of the time. If you gave Khan Kotelnik's physical traits, I dont think he would be a top fighter.

Styles make fights, Khan has more natural talent than Kotelnik and is naturally bigger but he isnt as durable, smart and as mentally strong. This is one of Kotelnik's biggest strengths, He was beating Maidana handily early on and managed to whether the storm near the end. Against a guy who was 27-0 with 26 knockouts. The "triangle theory" doesnt work, You can't compare Alexander's fight with Kotelnik with Khan's and say "This is why he will win" because that logic just doesnt work.
Khan might have the best skills at 140 but his mentally and suspect chin will prevent him from becoming a great fighter. He admits himself that he "wants to fight people on the decline" and his trainer is an expert at setting up fights against people who are in decline. So I don't think he will become the king of 140, But we'll have to wait and see. Alexander and Bradley both have flaws also. It's hard to say who is the best at 140 right now.

Kotelnick has a iron chin and ate some good shots from Devon. A mere Con would've been sleeping after those same shots.
What? How is that? Khan is extremely skilled and isnt hand and foot speed a big part of what makes a fighter skilled?

theyre very different fighters, so its hard to say.
Kotelnik is more skilled than Khan, but Khan is really fast, both on his feet and with his hands.

Khan is a better boxer and has more power than Kotelnik but Kotelnik has very good defense and a way better chin.
Khan's defense has improved but he can be caught.
Devon's best chance to beat Khan is to take him out (which he can do) because I see Khan outboxing him otherwise.
Yeah Alexander still has power, workrate and handspeed. But if the fight makes it the distance, he has little or no chance against Khan. And Amir's best bet is probably to let Alexander fight Bradley and fight the winner.
Yea i agree. The only reason Devon won yesterday was because of good activity but got hit alot and was not accurate at all.
Khan will beat him if it goes the distance because he has great speed power and is accurate as well.
