Yes Alexander far from impressive tonight, but let's not act like Bradley put on a boxing clinic last month. He did win 9 or 10 rounds, but he did take some shots in the process and looked pretty sluggish against Abregu. Neither one looked as impressive as they did in their previous fights.
So has the fight lost a bit of the hype to you?
He respected Peterson more..that was obvious..but he's got multiple strategic styles and is trying to win fans over..he never needed to trade with Abregu..but knew that he'd win over more fans if he KO'd a KO artist..he fell short but still wiped the dude out..and stunned him a few times in the process..
I'm sure he'll use the slick "Peterson-fight-style" to beat Alexander and he'll look great doing it..
and I feel Joel Diaz is a great trainer..he's zero tolerance and won't bullshit you..and has very good gameplans..I like the Joel Diaz-Bradley combo..
You know what? I agree with everything you said here. Green K for you
I'm not saying he didn't look better than Alexander did, but I'm just saying he made some mistakes. Heck, I wasn't even the one saying all of this stuff. I'm just posting all of the things people came to me with after the Abregu fight. My only real issues were that he looked slow, weighed in at 147, and wasn't able to finish him off. I also prefer his boxing style. However I think he did pretty good for his first fight at 147, but it just wasn't the same Tim Bradley I saw in the Peterson fight. In fact, I found the Bradley from the Peterson fight more exciting too. He looked impossible to hit, no matter how long he stayed inside or how many punches he threw without moving.
What he really needs is a world class trainer. Guys like Devon and Khan have world class trainers and he doesn't.

I don't know if it was because he weighed in at the maximum weight, but he didn't look the same to me. He threw a lot of wide shots, looked slower and was very sluggish. He also left himself wide open to counters. Perhaps he wasn't as comfortable at 147 as he thought he'd be or something? I mean I expected him to weigh in at like 144 or 145, but he came in at the weight limit. That really surprised me. I'm even questioning whether he can even make 140 after seeing that happen. Then that would leave him in a Morales/Castillo situation (too small for one division, too big for another).
I thought Abgegu size (no homo)was a factor because he's alot bigger than the 140 fighters...which made the fight more difficult for Timothy. He wasn't able to get inside easily.....He didn't look as quick as he did at 140,, but i thought he was impressive..
Bradley wasn't impressive in shutting out an undefeated power puncher in a higher weight class?!..
COME ON!!..he SHUT DUDE OUT and WOBBLED the man!!..and was even bragging about going toe to toe with him when he could easily have outboxed him all night and boasted about how Abregu's punches weren't shit!
If you weren't impressed by Bradley than I don't know what to say..but he was BY FAR MUCH MORE impressive than Alexander's performance tonight which was to a fighter in the weight class he considers himself the best in..PERIOD

I still don't understand why people think Bradley was impressive. Moving up in weight, against a puncher, he was able to win every round. On top of that he buzzed his bigger opponent more than once and showed great ring generalship. I was very impressed with Tim.

I was very impressed with Bradley's performance against Abregu, I liked what I saw. I did say that Alexander wasn't gonna look good against Kotelnik due to the style clash, but I expected Alexander to win easily. Did it lose some hype? sadly yeah :(

Neither looked impressive, so has the Bradley-Alexander fight's hype taken a hit? | BoxingScene Community
