Timothy would pick this guy apart...Devon defense was horrible tonight,,Klotenik was able to land the jab and straight right to easily in this fight,,Timothy with faster had speed and better footwork than Kotelnik just shows Timothy is far more ahead than Devon....
People talking about Alexander's power being overrated.
So is Maidana's power overrated since he couldn't KO Kotelnik?
I gotta say Klotelnik has a very good chin,, still believe Devon and Maidana have very good power.....
Respect your post,, but its not just about this fight tonight...I've pointed out many times that his defense needs to improve, he should of never been hit as much as he did against the Urango fight...I expected his defense to improve for his next fight,,,but it looked alot worse,, if he takes on Bradley in January, he loses...Tonight Devon fought like he was still green....
^that is the point TONIGHTS DEVON gets his ass kicked by all of the top fighters at 140 but when dealing with a YOUNG fighter, it is no guarantee you will get TONIGHTS DEVON
if you got the Mayweather that fought Jose Luis Castillo in that 1st fight then Mayweather would not be undefeated, if you got the same Pacman in the first Erik Morales fight then he wouldn't have came back and beat Morales twice (yeah yeah Erik was old that is beyond the point)
that is the scary thing and sometimes the most dangerous thing when it comes to young fighters, you really don't know what you are going to get, you could get a off night from him or you could get the NIGHT in which he takes that next step and Turns into a SUPERSTAR
Alexander needs to work on his defense I have posted that before myself and that is why I always maintained that Bradley is the BEST at 140 RIGHT NOW
It's a 50-50 fight neither are the fighters they are hyped up to be in my opinion. I just wasn't impressed however they have a lot of heart and work ethic and I give them all the credit they deserve and they are very hungry for greatness. All that being said I feel Amir Khan should be ranked ahead of these guys I just feel he is better skilled and has looked great in his last fights. After tonight his win over Kotelnik is even more impressive
Styles make fights. Kotelnik looked like a European version of Winky Wright tonight.
He covers up and forced Alexander to do too much, Alexander the young gun that he is didn't feel like he could win rounds without throwing a lot of punches since he was hitting glove most of the time.
This shouldn't be a problem vs Bradley because Tim doesn't keep a tight guard, he is a completely different fighter and whatever problem Devon faced tonight won't be the same vs Bradley. Neither one has seen as good a fighter as they will against each other. The closest thing to Alexander was Kendall Holt in Bradley resume style wise and the closes thing to Bradley on Devon's resume was Witter.
The big font says it all.
No one that can be hit that easily and has such a limited offense is beating Bradley. Bradley would find a groove, and have a damn good chance of stopping Alexander.
Agree 100%
not necessarily, because the same Alexander you seen today is probably not the same Alexander you would see against Bradley, Khan or Maidana or Ortiz
I always said Bradley was the BEST fighter at 140 and I still believe that, he is 26, more seasoned and battled test then the rest so right now the I think Bradley beats most of them...BUT that does not mean Alexander can't beat Bradley or the rest because he looked bad against Kotelnik
lets not pretend like great fighters never struggled early in their careers or never had loses or close fights they shouldn't of had but this is the mentally of todays boxing fans, they put EVERYTHING into one match and they think they will determine a young fighters career based on ONE FIGHT!
struggling with Kotelnik is still not as bad as getting KO'd in 54 second against Prescott hahahaha

Alexander's defense has too many holes on the inside against Bradley. Kotelnik has a lower workrate than bradley, yet he outlanded Alexander 225-203 per HBO Compubox, wtf wil Bradley do? I still think Alexander won 115-113, but he barely won. Also i think that Alexander's power is a bit overhyped as he never even hurt Kotelnik at all. Alexander nuthuggers criticized Bradley against Abregu, but which fighter got outlanded in their last fight Alexander or Bradley?
I said Bradley would dominate Alexander, I still stand by that. Here are Alexander's flaws
1. No head moveent
2. Too tense; stiff (This kills his reach/ power)
3. Backs up in a straight line
Agree!!! he also has a bad habit dropping his guard after throwing combinations....
Kotelnik was a champ and a seasoned vet, and he had a difficult style for alexander..I think alexander would use his height and length advantage against bradley and devon has superior handspeed so I think devon and tim are on the same level
Devon might have the superior handspeed..but Bradley has better footwork and much better head movement..so that handspeed will be neutralized..
I've actually been sayin this for quite some time..Bradley would use his slickness and ring generalship to calmly box circles around Alexander..even tho Bradley loves a fight I see him gettin in and trading and hitting Alexander at will..Alexander's defense was HIGHLY disappointing and his stubbornness was frustrating..his Trainer kept tellin his ass to box..and he kept getting in there standing still trying to flurry and getting rocked
Bradley would just tear thru Alexander's style in general I think.
Even leading up to the Urango KO Alexander didn't look like he would be able to take out someone like Bradley. The uppercut he used to stop Urango was amazing, but he landed it in between Urango's punch. Before that he wasn't really dominating he was just out boxing Urango.

He actually has a much more similar style to Mayweather..that's why I don't get why Mayweather's biggest rod riders like Alexander more....
...Oh wait..cuz Mayweather said he likes Alexander..lol
and Bradley looked DAMN good and SHUT OUT an undefeated POWER HITTING 147lber in his first fight at Welterweight and even WOBBLED the dude..while Alexander could barley even make Kotelnik take a step back..lol..how can you sit there and dare to compare?!..

I don't think Alexander has faced a guy with quick hands. (Correct me if I'm wrong) And it looks like he can't handle quick hands. He got hit with just about everything. Part of that was just Kotelniks amazing jab but even still, Devon got tagged with his head straight up too much.
Now Bradley is a little tornado of punches lol.
Bradley will probably cut thru Alexander like he cut thru Peterson.
