Who ya got!?!?
I'm off to bed but I look forwards to reading the responses to this post tomorrow over coffee & breakfast guys!
(in fact checking Boxingscene over breakie is the highlight of my day :P)
I think Pacquiao levels him with a nasty straight left at some point. He may not have been so refined back then but was much quicker and more powerful for his size.
No way.
Both guys being southpaws and Naz's lack of anything resembling defence=manilla ice or as Ricky Hatton put it 'right hook, roll under. right hook, roll under. same thing every time' All night long. Naz wouldn't be able to deal with his speed and I always thought he had a questionable chin. I wouldn't be surprised if it was worse than the Hatton fight.
Easy KO victory for Pac, probably before round 6.
The Pacquiao that fought Hatton (wtf? I dont get the paralell) is not the same one who fought at 126lbs.
Pacquiao had no defence either. In fact Id say Naz was better defensively. Naz would catch him rushing in throwing some wild shit. Naz had a very good chin, he was never hurt. And the vast majority of his knockdowns were because of balance issues.
Hamed was never hurt though, alot of the KDs were balance issues.
Hamed was P4P the hardest hitter in boxing, Pacquiao wouldnt be able to trade with him.
Hamed definitely hit harder than anyone at 126. He had 31 out of 36 or some crazy percentage.
But seriously, his defense is shit and his balance was even worse. Kelley wasn't the only guy to drop Hamed, and Pac was never down above 122. I think Barrera dropped him, but that was slip the ref didn't catch.
If Hamed doesn't get hurt from getting dropped, he'll get bounced around the canvas like Marquez in the first Pac fight. I know for a fact Hamed can hurt Pac at some point, but he's gonna take a lot of damage on the way. Too much if you ask me.
Pac by KTFO in 7.
Hamed didn't have a questionable chin. Almost all of his knockdowns were due to him being off balance 90% of the time. With that said I can't see Manny knocking him out. Maybe a TKO stoppage if he takes over and puts it on him late, but not KO.
FWIW people forget how hard Hamed cracked at that weight. The boxing world was buzzing about his power back in the day and many analyst had him p4p a harder hitter than guys like Tua, Tyson, Lewis, Trinidad, and other big punchers. I say this because there is no way Manny comes out brawling against Hamed or trying to end this early.
Pac would be faster, near as powerful, and have a better chin. His constant movement and quick punches would leave Hamed laid out by the 8th or 9th.
Hamed doesn't have the skills or fight the style to beat Pac IMO.
No way.

Pac had a great chin at 126. And he was faster and more powerful than Kevin Kelley, who dropped Hamed a few times. Hamed didn't have great defense and his chin suspect as well. You need technical skills and good defense to beat Pac.
Pacman. Even a green, one handed Pac would have been too much for Hamed. Pac was a huge featherweight, and the only way to beat him is a combination of boxing, countering, and brawling at certain times (like Marquez and Morales did). Boxers do well against Pac, but sooner or later you will have to go toe to toe with him.
Hamed was a slugger, like Pac and is no counter-puncher. As we have seen, brawlers who trade shots are tailor-made for some like Pac.
I see the fight being a war with Hamed getting stopped in 6 or 7. Very competitive, but Featherweight version of Pac eventually destroys him.
If we're talking about the improved version of Pac at 126, it wouldn't be a war. It would be an ass-raping.
This has been done before. Naz knocks out the featherweight version of Pacquiao.

It depends on how Pacquiao fights. If he comes out brawling like he did early on in his career he gets KTFO. I say this because Hamed is p4p one of the hardest hitters I have ever seen and had one punch KO power in both hands (something that is very rare in boxing).
However if Manny was patient, picked his shots and then turned it on late, then I see him winning a wide UD.
It would be a war, but Pacquiao would take it by KO. Although Hamed had one hell of a hard punch, Pac would just throw and land alot more punches. Hamed still has a punchers chance imo.
