Toney defending a takedown!

Toney received a gift in that fight. Came to post. Oquendo won that fight (and I'm a huge James Toney fan).

too bad that Tony fell off the boxing map about 5+ years ago. He just kept getting fatter and fatter and worse and worse. Always stinks to see a great fighter thats a shell of his former self. Yea, and Toney didnt even deserve a win in the Oquendo fight. thats a pretty sad thing to say. i know man. i cant beleive ppl actualy think Toney can knock out Carwin or Lesnar. Hes too small and his punches arent that powerfull. Toney is gonna make boxing look stupid. ANd dana white is all up to this imo

Couture is a Greco Roman Wrestler and I don't expect most boxing fans to know the difference, but that wrestling is based more on takedowns off the clinch which means Randy doesn't shoot natural double legs but is a master of putting you in the clinch and then tripping or throwing you down. That means Couture has to get inside Toney's punching range and pray he gets ahold of him to get him down and Couture use to have a great chin until the Chuck Liddell fights, but lately he's been chinny and as long as Toney throws first and defends the takedown second, he can catch Couture coming in, he just needs to idolize and base this fight off the 2nd & 3rd Randy/Chuck fights. But if he defends first he'll get taken down because I don't think he stops the takedown if Randy gets ahold of him. But Toney SHOULD catch him coming in, but Toney's kind of clumbsy and MMA might be bad for him so he might blow it. But technically speaking Toney SHOULD win if he uses the right strategy. mate , whether you're a freestyle wrestler or greco-roman , everyone knows how to do a double leg takedown. :lol1: throwing someone greco-roman is actually a harder skill to learn than simple single or double leg takedowns.

Randy has evolved past that and he's learned plenty of freestyle technique over the length of his career. You are thinking Randy Couture 10 years ago friend.
