ANDRE WARD: "STAY TUNED, IT'S GONNA GET BETTER"
By Simon Ruvalcaba | August 02, 2010
"I feel like I give a lot to the sport in terms of the way I try to carry myself and just the example I try to be inside the ring and outside the ring. And I feel like, you know, to some degree, I should be embraced a little bit more than I am, but, you know, there's really nothing I can do personally do about it. I'm not going to complain a lot about it in the public. I'm just going to try to keep working, man, and hopefully get my just due one of these days...stay tuned, it's gonna get better," stated WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward as he talked about the success he's had thus far in the Super Six tournament. Check out what else he had to say about his upcoming showdown with Andre Dirrell and much more.

Next Victim: Andre Dirrell
lets be fair, his last fight was so bad it has to improve, I felt like I was watching some british pub fighters when he fought green
Let's be fair? Green didn't want to fight. So, Ward roughed em' up.
Ward just has that "IT" factor. He is very well rounded and will take a fight wherever it has to go to win. He will do whatever it takes to get the W.
Very true. However much it absolutely blows donkey's balls for us fans that want to see a good fight, he is a highly skilled fighter both in an out and I think has enough to beat Dirrell.

Right, I agree with you. Dude is very focused and I really like that about Ward.
AA is a slow starter. Not only that, but he isn't as versatile as Ward. Ward can actually box, very good. But, he has been fighting in close quarters lately, which is a good wrinkle in his game.

Ward-Green was beautiful. Not Ward's fault he was able to take that guy apart so handily.
You thought that stinkfest was beautiful? Oh well. IMO they both made it suck.
Sure, Ward schooled him, but he did it in a very ugly way - almost enough to put me off his style. The Kessler fight was far better, perhaps for the reason that ol' Kezzers wanted to engage. I dunno.
It's cool bro, that was one fight; you are correct that Ward did his thing. However I can name two other fights in the past where he's butted people (accidentally). Consider it a bad habbit or a strategy, (a la Hopkins).
Agree to disagree...I don't think Ward will do enough against a mobile Dirrell. One thing I will say, it will be an entertaining fight, one that I will be MOST excited about in this tournament.
Ok. We will be rapping all the until the fight. :boxing:
So, it only consists of clinching and butting? Go back and watch the Green fight and you will notice that alot of the times, Green was clinching Ward. Look, I like Dirrell too. I just like Ward more and I feel that Ward will be a bit too much for Dirrell when they meet.

True, his inside game consists of clinching and butting. It is most effective.
I won't take anything away from Ward, you are correct in saying that he is a "very good" boxer. However, Dirrell (when focused) has better movement and a more effective jab to kep Ward from walking, charging, slipping in.

Maybe, but to your point Abraham "walked him down" and Dirrell boxed him well.
Abraham was highly favored to win the tournament pre-dirrell.
