When Floyd Mayweather recently stayed at a luxury hotel in Isla Verde, Puerto Rico, and it was hinted that Floyd might hook up with WBA super welterweight world champion Miguel Cotto, fueling speculation that the the pair would meet to discuss a super fight between the two superstars. However, that meeting never took place. “A fight between Miguel and Floyd will be great for the sport and exciting for the fans around the world,” Bryan Pérez, Executive Director of Promociones Miguel Cotto told *********.com. “Mayweather only have to say ‘yes’ to the challenge.”

This fight isn't gonna happen. Floyd would have absolutely nothing to gain from it. He's certainly not going to KO Cotto, and even though he wouldn't get touched as much as Pacquiao did, he still wouldn't look as impressive because he wouldn't hurt Cotto like Pac did. It would be a lose-lose situation.
Mayweather needs to fight Paul Williams. That's the only big fight left for him at this point if he doesn't fight Pacquiao. Berto would only be worthy if he beats Cotto, or Clottey and Mosley (and the only one of the three I'd pick him to beat is Clottey, which wouldn't be enough alone to get a Floyd fight).
Floyd beats him at 147. It would be interesting see how Cotto deals with legit 154lb'ers. If Cotto can hang at 154, I wouldn't mind seeing May-Cotto at that weight going at it. But only if Cotto is successful at 154.
I still think Cotto has the best shot to beat Mayweather at 47 and 54.
Crazy talk. Floyd has cheated us out of fights, and that's why everybody including me hate him. But Cotto never beats him on his best day.
nyahahahahha if floyd could get at least 10 million dollars with cotto i think he will be interested to fight again this year but one thing is for sure that he will not be interested to fight pac for 60 million dollars. :lol1:
I believe this to be very very true.
This fight would be pretty sweet, better than Pac-Marg
But not as good as Floyd-Paq. Ok, I will drop it now, but why fight someone when you should be fighting the man that beat him silly instead? Ok, I will drop it now.
Personally, i want to see a cotto/floyd jr match, even now. But its most likely not gonna happen since floyd would now see cotto as one of Pac's leftovers.

I'd pay for this fight.
And I believe even this version Cotto will beat Mayweather.
Sorry bro, I would'nt buy this fight, and I don't think Cotto has "THE EYE OF THE TIGER" anymore. Margacheato beat it out of him, and then Pac made sure it won't come back. This would have been a good fight if he did'nt fight the cheater.
Why didn't he fight Cotto before now? Why did he wait so long to face Mosley? The win over Mosley was a decent win but you must admit, Mosley was not prime by any means. Floyd could have made this fight when Cotto was at the top of his game....still a decent fight but as you put it, this is not the same Cotto anymore.
The Cotto match does little to enhance Floyd's legacy. In fact, it could even hurt it if he doesn't look spectacular. Just makes very little sense. I don't see him putting a lot of energy into promoting that. But discrediting the Mosley win is pretty lame. Mosley may have been inactive but he was as hot as he'd been in nearly 10 years and I don't recall Pacquiao ever looking his direction after he beat Margarito. Mosley was the biggest threat in the division for either and Floyd pitched a two hitter.

Why not just fight Pac? Oh wait, Floyd's a lil pussy and will fight Cotto now because he's damaged goods instead of fighting him when he was dangerous.
Cotto has a shot at the upset, though it would be tough, all he has to do is make May fight and get him out of his comfort zone - not an easy task to do at all...but I think it could still be a competitive, entertaining match up.

Again, name ALL of the guys he fought because "they were not the same fighter anymore".
