quote from Gary Shaw. "Personally, I would rather fight Khan first, and here is my reasoning. Khan has a loss, Maidana has a loss, Ortiz has a loss. And two of the three are from outside of the United States. Devon Alexander is an American fighter with an unblemished record. Tim Bradley is an American fighter with an unblemished record. So, I say, let Timmy fight Khan or Maidana, and let Devon Alexander fight Khan or Maidana, and then let the two winners meet, which was my idea all along," said Shaw.
"I was called by a radio station about Khan's Twitter message, and I immediately e-mailed Richard Schaefer and said, this is what you're fighter is saying," said Shaw. "I sent an e-mail not only to Richard, but to Ross Greenburg aswell. I got back an e-mail from Richard saying, 'I will talk to Amir'
"I'm fighting Timothy Bradley next. I'm going tell Golden Boy. Let's see if they want it for real. Talk is cheap. I'll fight Tim Bradley, it's the first time he has called me out. I'm going Vegas and talk to Golden Boy. I wuld love the fight, good style for me. By the way, clever way to avoid the best 140-pounds by moving up," Khan said.
Bradley should destroy Amir Khan. Bradley will be too mobile for Khan and will make him look bad to an easy win. Alexander should destroy Kotelnick.
Looks like they can have a super six style tournament at light welterweight.
Bradley vs Khan
Alexander vs Maidana
Judah vs Ortiz
lol. people are so quick to label Maidana a sacrificial lamb.
His only loss is a controversial SD to Kotelnik in GERMANY (which should've been a SD or MD for Maidana. I had it 115-113). Kotelnik showed up to block most of the fight, and the judges were obviously swayed by the completely partisan crowd.
Kotelnik's face was bruised up and swollen and he won somehow. All he landed was jabs and maybe 3 overhand rights.
I think Maidana beats the 140 guys because he can get them to exchange blows. Khan's probably the one with the most potential, but if he decides to trade, it's over.
Maidana beat THE best 140lber, Ortiz. Just so happened Ortiz had the heart of a kitten.
Next year will be fun as Chino smashes the competition.
I been saying that for about a month now, the biggest match up in that division is Bradley vs Alexander because they are UNDEFEATED and they are the two best fighters in that division
they should take out the rest of the fighters in that division and then meet up sometime next year for the ultimate show down...but Golden Boy Promotions won't allow that to happen, the will sacrifice Maidana but they will continue to protect Khan and Ortiz
Maidana isnt exactly a sacrifice. He would have a good chance (punchers) to beat every single one of the top 140lbs guys. He is a good way to get Bradley out of the way of Khan. Khan will end up fighting Maidana alot longer than him fighting Bradley.

what a farce
It does make sense, though, from his point of view, he will obviously hope to set up a much bigger fight down the road for the two US fighters once they have beaten the two Europeans. So while people might disagree with him on how the fights will play out, you can see where he is coming from. Makes sense from his point of view.
