I mean some of these guys on the undercard are straight up garbage. So why not pay the lower weight class fighters who get paid wwwwaaayyyyy less and put them in the undercard of big fights? Tell me yall wouldn't love to see calderon and Segura on a big ppv undercard? Some of these fighters who are far less entertaining im sure get paid more. You gonna tell me foreman vs santos is better then a calderon vs segura? Yeah they might sell some tickets in a small place with gio and ivan but come on once in a while you need to put these guys in front of casual fans to get more fans. Only the die hards would watch that on a main event ppv.
Pacquiao vs margarito
Donaire vs montiel
Random fight put together by top rank
Benavidez jr-TBA
That would be a amazing PPV if top rank made that, but knowing them they will make each fight its seprate PPV
I guess it's economics. If those are PPV worthy, then bundling them would reign in less money than individually getting 400k buys each. Not yet counting the fact that boxing purses are bigger than MMA purses. Maybe if the purses were smaller they can bundle up quality matchups in one PPV.

The lower weights will always get more recognition in Japan and Mexico, where their are more fighters entered. I like seeing whats happening in the flyweight and superflyweight division. There have been good fights made recently involving the Kameda's, Cazares, Wonjonkam and Naito that have captured the public's eye.
This is very true.
Though, I'd say Latin America as a whole not just Mexico, but they do produce a lot of fighters at lower weights.
In Asia, it's pretty much Philippines, Thailand, and as you said, Japan.

I agree with Killa Right...only thing I HATE about the lower weight classes..is that there are SO MANY!!..
there's 105, 108, 112, 115, 118, 122, 126, 130
they're all only like 3-4lbs different!!..that can be made in to atleast only 3 or 4..
I'd say. 108, 115, 122, 130 that way they could stop avoiding each other!! *cough Donaire *cough...other than that..I love the lower weight classes just as much..
I doubt it'd go down like that, they wouldn't get rid of three of the original eight.
Plus 118 is one of the very best divisions in boxing and 126 is another good one.
