Hi, Im female age 22. I am starting boxing this week, I'm just wondering am I too old to start? the gym im joining is an old school one and I know of it because its where my brother used to train. I know some of the basics but at some point I would like to get in the ring but I think at 22 am I too old to train to a good enough standard to fight?
Cheers
Come on guys, leave her alone. Maybe there would be a broader spectrum of members if not everyone was chased out of here....
Anyways...Toni; 22 is not too old/young at all. Some kids start as young as 13. All that matters is your eagerness to learn and willingness to kick some ass! :D
Thank you!
I used to kickbox at 15 and I got really good but the coach decided to pack it in and pack us in so I just carried on at school and didn't join anywhere else. wasn't another kick boxing gym worth going to at the time anyway. I love boxing and always have and i've decided I want to train and compete. I've chosen a good gym and a good coach so i've pretty much just got to go for it now, I like keeping fit but just going to the gym doesn't cut it for me, I get bored and want to be doing it for a reason. Simple as that
Sorry about the "stopped reading" post. I was being a little harsh there.......
:lol1:
can I ask a question:
Why do you want to start boxing?

Methinks you mentioned being female to get more attention. There was no reason to bring up your gender in regards to your question. =b
That said, 22 isn't too young. I think Bernard Hopkins started when he was 19. He's still boxing in his late 40's.
To be honest im not that sad, I wanted to mention this to get replies relating more to what I think, I just know men have more strength and power so I'm assuming they'd pick it up easier. It was just a simple question. There are some people on here saying they stopped reading when read female, well why comment then. Thanks for ur reply. I'll prob be leaving this site now i've got the answers I wanted. cheers folks
Sad state of affairs we are in bro.
Back to Gaul with you.
Sad, sad indeed.
Green k to you for knowing the origin of my name, =].
damn dude.. berto has 30 KOs in 26 fights? :lol1:
He's just magical like that :boxing:. Or maybe it's just a typo. I presume the latter.

Because if Bernard Hopkins can do it, so can you!:boxing:

I've put a pic on, not that this should make any difference. Just looking for advice really. Boxing can be anyone's sport....anyone who has the determination. Thanks for the replies!

haha! fair one...wouldnt turn me on if I was a guy either. But I think any woman boxer out there will be glad to hear that. Women dont box to turn you on but because of their passion for the sport! Pipe down
she said "pipe" and "down" :werd:
