let me first state panda started to respect williams because he did really want the big risky fights or so it seemed
this is how panda sees it but feel free to correct me:
-williams gets pavlik but pavlik pulls out due to a staph infection and takes on a really risky fight in sergio martinez
-williams goes life and death with martinez but gets the W and hbo offers him a rematch with martinez or a middleweight title bout with pavlik
-williams obviously frustrated with pavlik pulling out twice isnt interested, but doesnt fight martinez either here's where it gets interesting
-martinez upsets pavlik to win the middleweight crown with williams sitting ringside as a clear indication he intents to fight the winner
-williams has his awkward fight with cintron and announces he moves down to 147. the question is why? williams hasnt made half the money most top 5 welterweights of 2007-2008 have
cotto moved up, he doesnt want cintron again (maybe justfully so), margarito moved up, mosley is fighting mora at 154, and he doesnt bring any serious money to the table for him to secure a pacquiao or mayweather clash. who is he gonna fight if he claims hes going for the titles? berto? zaveck?
how are angulo, martinez or even spinks and mundine not more lucrative options? williams is making martinez wait like he's the champ and its ridiculous
I'll tell Panda what happened.
Goosen watched Williams get undressed by Cintron and realized he better protect his fighter from anyone with a pulse near his actual weight classes 54' and 60' and moved him back down to WW to prolong teh inevitable.
Pussy shit is all that happened.
Burner would counter that by bring up the Santos-Margarito fight. Lol. Where's that nuthugger at?
Yeah that makes sense, those bigger guys can put the hurting on you and once you get cut up a few times, you will always cut worse in the future.
Yeah if you look at it. Both Williams and Pavlik were known to be volume punchers. Lately though neither of them have been that. Both of them are more weary of what their opponents are going to do and are tentative in the ring. At one time they would both just march forward, keep punching through whatever their opponents offered. Both are now getting cut up more. To me, that is a sure sign that both of them either have "jumped the shark" career wise or are fighting under the weight classes they should be in. It might be a combo of both.
I think both of them should be fighting at 168. Their bodies are breaking down. For Williams to be going down to 147 is suicide IMO.
I think Williams punch resistance is starting to wear down. Lately it seems he is getting hurt and buzzed more in the 154-160 range. This is why he truly is going back down to 147 as they feel there is less risk against the smaller guys.
He simply no longer looks like a fresh fighter. Both he and Pavlik have seen much better days.
In the Quintana fight, he took a decent beating and same goes for the Martinez fight where he was exchanging for 12 rounds..
His confidence and his punch resistance has taken a knock.
and..
However shitty the 4 rounds of the Cintron fight where, no way Williams won more than 1 round.

man indeed if he fights pavlik hbo will pick it up, its a measuring bar fight and a great way to make either pavlik or williams' rematch with martinez a lot more lucrative
berto and dibella said he wouldnt fight williams last year, they said they would target welterweights berto's size like cotto
Right now Pavlik still gets a big question mark do to his indecision of staying active and of course his desire to compete against the elite. After his loss to Martinez it's been a who's who of of anomalies from his weight issues to rumored binge drinking.
As for Berto and Dibella turning down a fight with P. Williams last year I don't think it would be any different this year especially if he's stating he wants to charter the 140 pound territory.
I don't know what he is doing but had the Cintron fight continued on without the "incident", things weren't going to go Williams' way and that is almost certain.
Something I do know for certain is that a fight with Pacquiao ain't happening and Martinez is ready for the rematch right now. Williams has looked human and beatable in his last 2 fights and I think his team is trying to setup a fight with another 147 title holder, a lesser known one to build Williams back up again...at least that is the only thing that halfway makes since.

1st off let me state that I am a PWill fan through and through, but this weight class hopping needs to STOP!!!!!!!!!!! Paul needs to stay at 154 until he collects a couple of pieces of hardwear ie. BELTS. WW is dry right now, it's evident when the WBC WW champ is talking about moving DOWN to 140. I dont really think that he NEEDS to give Cintron a rematch, as they already fought and Cintron's exit from the ring is very questionable(why go through the drama AGAIN???????). I really don't think all of this is PWill's doing, I honestly believe that he's being led in the wrong direction by his handlers. We all know that PWill want's to do one thing and one thing only, and thats FIGHT!!!
panda never believed cintron could beat williams, well maybe he has a punchers chance but cintron would have that against most opponents
Cintron has already beaten williams. he won 3 of the 4 rounds scored in their fight clearly.
6. Pavlik is a BIG ?
7. Berto is talking about going to 140
So than, P. Williams has the option of fighting either Martinez, Angulo, Spinks and he still chooses to chase smaller fighters.

P. Will has been a diva more so because of Goosen who keeps telling us hes the most avoided fighter on earth, but truth is he doesn't bring anything to the table apart from that avoided label, but hes been schooled by Quintana and Martinez I could've gone either way.
He reminds me of Kendall Holt when Kendall said he'd wait for winner of Pac-Hatton before deciding his next move. Stop dreaming about a fight you'll never get.
Mayweather and Pacquiao will both never fight Williams.
i think p will and sergio will rematch to be honest
I think that's Paul's best bet at the moment, so here's the run down:
1. Manny Pac wont fight him for the same reasons he didn't chase Yuri Foreman for his 154 pound strap as there's too much of a disparity of height/reach.
2. Cotto wont fight him possibly for the same reasons as Manny and I can't blame him for that.
3. Mosley has a date with Mora which is totally irrelevant.
4. Floyd can't decide if he's an active fighter, retired fighter, or out right paranoid fighter.
5. Margarito isn't licensed yet and despite this so many Mexicans fans are making excuses for him( I wont mention any names *cough* *cough* Mr. Fantastic)
6. Pavlik is a BIG ?

panda picks angulo or kirkland to give him a shitload of trouble, they also draw crowds unlike any names available for williams to fight at 147, unless he fights canelo ofcourse
hell williams could beat up on jcc jr, welterweight right now is just dried up with the exception of pac and floyd
Don't make it sound like U believe Cintron can beat the Punisher, because he can't!!With that said I'm probably his biggest fan but I still think that he better get his head out his a$$ & forget about Pacman & handle business where it needs to be handle!!Because none of those names U mentioned can beat him & he ain't never fighting Pacman!!
like panda said, correct me where im wrong
just kidding...williams once the most ducked man in the sport then martinez/quintana expose him laid the blueprint to everyone..nah..williams - martinez 2 is on the go..just wait...
